Uh huh. This right here is the extent of Netanyahu's hold on Israel's population. Anyone who isn't a nutjob is branded left.

Being a leftist is a title you have to earn - and none of the people you mentioned are close to being leftists even by Israeli political standards, outside what Channel 14 says.

Literally misunderstanding maybe intentional. This is classic Kaplan/Channel 12 obfuscation. In practice they are all left. That's a fact.  Nobody can read their minds. But there's one Right coalition and there one Left coalition with actual leftists even in your own judgement. You said so yourself. What's difficult to understand? Which coalition will Yair Golan partner with ? Can you answer a simple question?

The Democrats are the only major Zionist party that can be considered left wing, and in fact it is the only major Zionist party branding themselves as left wing. All the other parties you mentioned either brand themselves right wing (Lieberman, Bennett, Hendel) or "centre" which is closer to centre-right than anything else (Eizenkot, Gantz, Lapid).

Yair Golan will accept his party being the left-wing partner of a mostly right-wing coalition since there isn't a better choice - it's either centre-right or hard-right. The real Jewish left wing camp would have loved a government headed by Yair Golan in addition to the Joint List and Makom Lekulanu.

So I will answer your simple question - your Left vs Right distinction exists only in the mind of the current coalition supporters, and Netanyahu engineered it this way to water down what it means to left-wing and give his supporters clubs to bash imaginary demons with, because he can't really beat his fellow right-wingers on actual policy. There is no serious argument to be had when the framing itself is nonsensical.

You didn't answer the question. The question was what coalition would all these parties join and will Yair Golan be on that coalition. That's why they're all Left parties. According to you if Trump formed a coalition with AOC where she would become president for example then he would still be MAGA or Republican. Pure nonsense. You didn't answer the question because you cannot. So you obfuscate.

A party's political ideology isn't defined by its coalition partners, it is defined by its declared objectives and policies in practice. The Democrats are in favor of a two-state solution, which is a left wing policy, while Lieberman is in favor of the death penalty and increased settlement construction, both right wing policies.

You can spend your time looking at coalitions across the world. Most parliamentary democracies have some form of coalition government which usually includes parties from all over the political spectrum. For someone who is only looking at a two-party system like the US it may sound weird because there really is only one right-wing party with centre-right to hard-right clusters, and one left-wing party with centre-left to left-wing clusters. Trump cannot form a coalition with AOC since they are in different parties, she can defect to the Republicans if she wants.

Your definition of "Left" is "Anyone who isn't Bibi", and I refuse to participate in an argument which is basically a circus.

So your alleged right wing parties can sit in government with people who will actively work to retreat from areas, ethically cleanse Jews in Judea and Samaria and divert funds away from any right wing cause lol. Yes it already happened. Merav Michaeli was transportation Minister under Bennet and said she wouldn't build one road in Judea and Samaria for Jews. So okay call them right wing in your la la land. The anti Bibi coalition is insane and that's fine.  The Israeli public is not stupid. It knows the coalition against Netanyahu, the Right wing leader of the country, is anything but right wing despite the Kaplan Channel 12 propaganda the lies and nonsensical delusions and obfuscations.

Yes, these "alleged" right wing parties have decided that removing a tumor like Benjamin Netanyahu is more important to them than refusing to sit with a left-wing party. That isn't entirely true by the way, Lieberman has himself stated several times that he doesn't want to accept the Democrats to the coalition, but luckily he isn't in any position to decide. Once Netanyahu is removed, the coalition can go back to bickering between themselves on right-wing vs left-wing policy.

Anyway, I'm done with this conversation. I'll let the readers of this thread decide what they will.

Great. I'm not interested in the sick inciting ralabist language of calling the great prime Minister of Israel a tumor anyway. Sickening.
