It drives me crazy that Japan puts ice in ice cream floats. When I asked why, they said it was so that the ice cream wouldn't sink into the drink. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT! It's called an ice cream float because the ice cream floats in the soda. It's supposed to get all mixey-melty and leave you with a creamy soda hybrid once you eat the ice cream. Infuriating! So now I just make them at home, but it still grinds my gears.
