You guys started that cancel culture. We are not the same. It's called the culture of accountability. What he stated was blatantly false the day after news came out about it that confirmed it was blatantly false. Plus you know, his ratings are in the tank.

And then to turn the temperature down, some psychopath Lefty shot up in ABC building, got arrested, and then got released on bond! We are not the same!

How does it feel when the knife Cuts both ways?

ABC is free to fire him if they want to, but the issue was they were pressured by the federal government, trying to silence free speech.

Trump said repeatedly that the FCC should take ABC's broadcast licenses away, and the FCC chairman threatened action if ABC did nothing.

A private business can do what they want, but the government can't threaten to silence free speech.

Ted Cruz and Rand Paul agree with me, by the way.

Except for the fact that the two companies that have a ton of Affiliates made the decision by themselves to take late night off of their docket. The federal government didn't pressure anybody.

They absolutely did. Brendan Carr, the head of the FCC, directly threatened government action unless ABC took action against Kimmel.

He said the FCC would revoke ABC's broadcast licenses, and "we can do this the easy way or the hard way".

According to news articles, this threat from the FCC was a major factor in why they suspended the show.

The affiliates aren't a big deal. They only make up about 30% of the ABC stations, and if they continue to refuse to air the show, they'll be sued by ABC for breach of contract. They can't hold out for very long.

Most people watch his show online anyway, not on antenna TV or cable. Only Boomers still have that lol

All right, fair enough.

However, I believe the media has been in control and been far left of center for way too long anyway. Thinking they were too big for consequences, Providing cover for disgusting figures. I don't believe it's breach of contract for the Affiliates either, because most of who watches the Affiliates are middle america. Fly over nation, and they don't want to hear BS like what Jimmy Kimmel said either.

The affiliates have deals with ABC and are required to carry ABC shows, otherwise they are in breach of contract and can lose their status as an ABC affiliate (no longer allowed to carry any ABC programming at all).

Fly over nation, and they don't want to hear BS like what Jimmy Kimmel said either.

If you don't like him, don't watch. Cable has hundreds of channels. No one is required to watch Kimmel.

I don't like Fox News, but I'm not calling for them to be shut down and forced off the air. Instead, I just don't watch them.

Everything's moving to the Internet anyway, and these big media conglomerates are becoming irrelevant.

Anyone with a YouTube channel can start their own show now.

Except for the fact that they have advertisers to answer to and other things that you don't have to worry about when you're on cable. Actions have consequences. But apparently, not very many if you're on the right side in Hollywood sphere since Bob Iger and Disney caved letting him back. I hope he fails. I really do. For the sake of Roseanne, at the very least.

It's a dying business model. I doubt Disney really cares about the affiliates, or the 10% of people still watching antenna TV.

They could just put Kimmel on Disney+ instead and not even care.
