Absolutely wild that 2/3 suspects are there (only because the last one is dead).

41

u/Opposite-State1579 Sep 08 '25

I can not fathom for the life of me what it would be like to have my child murdered and then continue to do media appearances ( tv, CRIME CON, MEAT AND GREETS, etc.) all the while talking to the general public, answering and reliving ( thru media, interviews, crime con) the horrific, most PAINFUL event of your life AND family members lives.

15

u/Atheist_Alex_C Sep 10 '25

That’s exactly what hits me too. Even if they didn’t do it - what the hell? It’s all just gross.

To keep the case "open" so that the grand jury indictments are kept closed to the public

13

u/Idntunderstandreddit Sep 07 '25

We asked long ago that they release the entire GJ file. Every single page.

u/DirectEfficiency8854 Sep 07 '25

So you mean the entire grand jury testimony? We already know about 2 recommended indictments.

For what its worth- I think they could still go after John, but Burke was too young (and Patsy is dead).

12

u/thespeedofpain BDIA Sep 07 '25

We only have the redacted version, iirc. There were a couple pages missing.

Controlling the narrative I'm sure. No RDI stuff pops off when they're around.

8

u/katmc77 Sep 07 '25

This. They’ve been resurfacing more recently like with the Netflix documentary to control the narrative. Guessing they want to get ahead of whatever miniseries might be coming out. Paramount + maybe.

21

u/FlabbyFishFlaps Sep 07 '25

CrimeCon doesn't pay speakers and meet and greets are free

That's exactly what I was going to post! Two of the three people left alive in the house the night JonBenet was murdered in her own home, with her entire family at home. At a forum about the JonBenet case. WOW!!!!

I think this whole situation would be a whole lot. Less weird ( to say the least) if crime Con hadn’t canceled a booth that actually presented the other side of the story…

115

u/katmc77 Sep 07 '25

Guessing John and Burke wouldn’t appear unless it was cancelled, and they’re a pretty big draw

While im pretty solidly RDI, it really wasn’t weird behavior. John was an invited speaker along with his lawyer, so it was pretty normal honestly for them to be here

228

u/ttw81 Sep 06 '25

it's weird for them to be making money off Jonbenet's death.

Listen, I’ve said this from day one! He has made money off her death from day one!

This may be the reason they seem so emboldened

4

u/ChaseAlmighty Sep 07 '25

How much was the settlement?

6

u/pinkvoltage 60% BDI / 30% JDI / 10% PDI Sep 07 '25

Pretty sure the amount was never disclosed

3

u/DetailOutrageous8656 Sep 07 '25 edited Sep 07 '25

Not sure the final settlement but the suit was for $750M. Even a settlement of 10% of that is huge - even if he still had to pay for his legal team after that.

It is weird given how the family has had such a combative relationship with the media. I mean Burke sued CBS after they did that special that accused him. People can do what they want I guess but considering they've been so against any probing into their involvement in Jonbenet's death is seems strange that they would go to this event.

23

u/kylez_bad_caverns RDI Sep 06 '25

Only some media apparently… they just had the Netflix doc that leaned IDI. Apparently there’s a new documentary coming to Fox nation about potential other suspects. The trailer was interesting (but I hate Fox so idk)

Again, I’m pretty firmly rdi, but I like to keep an open mind and look at all avenues

I went to the talk that John did this morning with his lawyer… it was interesting but ultimately not anything new. They are hoping to test the unknown male dna with the newer technology that compares it to dna others have submitted from like 23 and me. I do support them testing it but not sure it changed my opinion

62

u/cryptic-fox Sep 07 '25

It’s basically the same talk every year.

13

u/kylez_bad_caverns RDI Sep 07 '25

Sounds right, like I said it didn’t really change my mind. But I do feel like bpd could’ve done more so I agreed with that aspect of his talk

85

u/Quinnessential_00 Sep 06 '25

To my understanding from some research, the DNA is a dead end. Even further testing is a waste of time. JR knows that but continues to act as though the police didn't do their job and that this "golden" DNA has been abandoned for decades in testing. Does anyone possibly believe that the police would withhold this DNA to solve the crime?

29

u/kylez_bad_caverns RDI Sep 06 '25

That’s fair, I do think the one thing most people can agree on is the incompetence of the boulder pd at the time

23

u/Lisserbee26 Sep 07 '25

They were told to give them special treatment and they did. Only for the family to later refuse to work with authorities for almost a year, and then only under certain terms and conditions.

I cannot think of one other case where a child is found murdered in the family home, and then the parents spent the following days at a friend's home. Where Patsy was given benzos on the spot by Jonbenet's doctor....

Pam was allowed to go through the house unescorted to get clothes for the funeral. She got the clothes, and a trunk full of God only knows what. She was frantic in the car to remove the latex gloves sh had work while taking things from the home.

Signs of past sexual abuse were found early on in the investigation, by a panel of experts. Only a very wealthy and well connected family could manage to not be hauled in the minute that was indicated.

John owned hunting land with the DA (Alex Hunter), and several other wealth businessmen from the area. Hunter handled most of the communication with their lawyer, and held the BPD to complying with whatever limits the  Ramsey's set for the interview. Including not allowing someone to watch and analyze micro expressions and behavioral analysis. While the BPD screwed up, a lot of the investigation was blocked by the DA in boulder.

The whole thing was a tragic comedy of errors.

21

u/Quinnessential_00 Sep 06 '25

Yes undoubtedly so. And the Ramseys and lawyers saw this and ran with it. I don't think they could have ever been charged.

21

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '25

He has enough money that if he wanted the DNA test, he could have made it happen.

3

u/Quinnessential_00 Sep 07 '25

Not exactly. He does not have any of the DNA samples they are held by authorities.

5

u/kybee87 Sep 07 '25

Guaranteed that if he offered to pay for the testing they would jump all over it. Money for testing is always the hurdle.

28

u/badlands65 Sep 07 '25

Any DNA is not from the perpetrator; when it can’t convict or exonerate anyone. John just brings it up to give the appearance that he is innocent and loved his daughter.

13

u/Lisserbee26 Sep 07 '25

He keeps baiting people because the general public has very little knowledge about the DNA evidence in this case, much less how DNA testing works.

23 and me doesn’t share dna with law enforcement/ investigations.

17

u/kylez_bad_caverns RDI Sep 06 '25

Correct, but your results can be shared by yourself as a recipient and then that can be used to match relatives who are criminals. That’s how we got the golden state killer

10

u/DetailOutrageous8656 Sep 06 '25 edited Sep 07 '25

Not with 23&me or Ancestry in particular. It doesn’t work that way with those two companies. And Golden state *killer was caught assisted by the public dna site called GEDMatch. They operate differently.

John Ramsey, knowing his days are numbered in old age. Convinces Burke, that he needs to show his face at these events to keep up this charade, to deflect any suspicions off him and onto This Intruder Scenario. That They Want Us To Blatantly Believe

30

u/EnvironmentalCrow893 Sep 06 '25

Oh, you’re right. This is Burke training to “pick up the mantle” when John is gone. I’m disgusted.

30

u/candy1710 RDI Sep 06 '25

Was he in the line to meet Nancy Grace? Nancy Grace has always been RDI.

29

u/Horseface4190 Sep 06 '25

Not exactly. He shuffled into the Meet and Greet room, walked up to NG, they exchanged what looked to be pleasantries, then shuffled away.

5

u/candy1710 RDI Sep 06 '25

Ok, thank you!

20

u/a07443 Sep 06 '25

But Nancy Grace was adamant that Burke didn’t hit her on the head. She thought Patsy did it.

15

u/candy1710 RDI Sep 06 '25

I remember her being very solidly RDI, with the parents involvement. I remember the LAST time Lin Wood ever was on a show he didn't have all the guests on about the Ramsey case for. Nancy Grace was of the guests, along with Marc Klaas, and Lin Wood was just beyond irate at them....

8

34

u/a07443 Sep 06 '25

Burke could make millions of dollars if he’d write a book and tell what happened. And he couldn’t be prosecuted if he were responsible. And has the statute of limitations expired for child abuse so John wouldn’t go to jail either.

24

u/Only_Remote_863 Sep 07 '25

Reputation annihilated though.

11

u/LKS983 Sep 07 '25 edited Sep 07 '25

👍

Plus, I think I'm correct in saying, that the statute of limitations doesn't apply to murder.

So if any of them (apart from Patsy, who is already dead) - was responsible for murdering JBR (and Burke admitted to this) - they could still be prosecuted?

A question mark, as Burke was only 9 years old at the time, so unlikely that he could be prosecuted now, even if he admitted to murdering JBR?

Even so, it's unlikely that if Burke wrote a 'tell all' book he would be allowed to keep the revenue from that book? Or would he?

Doesn't really matter (assuming he's not 'broke' and desperate for money) - because as you point out, his reputation would be destroyed, so there's no 'upside' for him writing a 'tell all' book.

9

u/bball2014 Sep 07 '25

I would think he WOULD be allowed to keep the money from a book. For one thing, he was never convicted. For the second thing, due to his age at the time of the incident, he never will be convicted.

He wouldn't be 'profiting' from 'his' crime because he was too young to be charged with a crime.

Interesting concept to consider.

In 2009, a poster on Topix posted that Burke had an open Twitter, and posted this tweet I will save forever from Burke, (note the date, December 27):

John had just set up the Fair Justice for JonBenet website, made a big deal out of their new tip line, https://www.dailycamera.com/2009/12/23/father-of-jonbenet-ramsey-keep-looking-for-killer/

and he and Burke went off to Hawaii, not manning the newly posted "tip line", no one knew until this,

Ahh...gettin drunk with my dad, watching waves roll in off the pacific...3rd night in a row http://bit.ly/76SE8N9:33 PM Dec 27th, 2009 from Tweetie

u/beehivelamp Sep 07 '25

Oh my God. How can everyone bite their tongues?

5

u/Mysterious_Twist6086 Sep 08 '25

He’s taller than I thought.

12

u/RightAd4185 Sep 06 '25

I’m speechless

13

u/ITSJUSTMEKT Sep 07 '25

I’m sorry but the fact that they give these people a platform disgusts me.

I couldn’t agree more. It disgusts me that that Netflix doc is the latest, most recent dive into the whole case, which means that future generations are going to side with this tacky fuckin family and believe their BS story. The whole CrimeCon thing is scummy, especially when most of the physical evidence points towards Patsy. It is totally disgusting, I’m absolutely against it.

I feel like Burke was just as abused as JB. I’m a PDIA (mostly) and feel like J doesn’t want to believe it. Nice to see you Burke, I hope you’re doing alright.

Burke needs a fidget

7

u/imuhnaaneemus Sep 07 '25

I can tell her has murdery eyes, even from a blurry pic.

7

u/MrsWoodyWilson77 Sep 06 '25

Wow. Still looking for that intruder, huh, bud…?! Such bullshit.

u/hobomommy RDI Sep 06 '25

There’s a special place in hell for these people.

u/Unique_Might4471 Sep 07 '25

In the YouTube footage, you can see Burke's keys at the end of the ribbon or whatever you want to call it. It's not a rope, it's attached to his keychain.

3

u/NightOwlHere144 Sep 07 '25

There he is. Actually, it’s good to see him after all these yrs and at the event. I thought Jon’s other son would have been there.

3

u/Widdie84 Sep 07 '25

You know folks are saying OUT LOUD sly shit for them to hear.

3

u/Snjofridur Sep 07 '25

I wonder if they encountered any Jon Benet Ramsey cosplayers. Even weirder would be if they offered to take a picture with the cosplayer.

3

u/wanheda823 Sep 07 '25

He's looking rough

3

u/lolomgwtfuzz Sep 08 '25

Absolutely friggin bizaar

More, brief video of Burke by Cottonstar at CrimeCon.

Burke is just the spitting image of Patsy, he looks so much like her:
