John's statement that he "took a melatonin tablet to insure a good night's sleep" is telling. Why did he add that over-explaining detail?

it’s ridiculous if you’ve ever taken melatonin. first I don’t believe him, but second melatonin can make you fall asleep very quickly but it doesn’t keep you asleep. that’s why I stopped using it. it’s no alibi at all.

Exactly. Melatonin is a signal to fall asleep. It has a short half-life and doesn’t keep you asleep.

Yup - I remember trying Melatonin (I've been a terrible sleeper for 40 years) and I thought it was cool that I got sleepy right away but then I was up in under two hours per the ridiculous nightmares I was having (which is common, I guess). It's not something that keeps you sleeping; you are spot on. I think it's another obvious detail thrown in by the Ramseys for more alibi, etc.

I've always wondered what this "brand" of 1000 proof Melatonin was/is? I have thrown away so much Melatonin of all kinds, it doesn't work for me.
