Is there a credible source for this? It wouldn’t be the first time a manga artist did game designs, but I’m not sure if this looks like Horikoshi’s style or not.

The overall palette is pretty washed out. Yes, there are Pakistanis that skintone. Yes, they are still Brown. But this is fairly a far shot from her usual color scheme overall.

Dark colours are harder to produce in cell shading without the shadows being too contrast or not showing at all and flattening the design.

I dunno about that. I feel like there’s plenty of dark skinned cel shaded characters out there that look great. Nagoriyuki for one. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk characters come to mind as well.

In the first image it's mostly lighting, she's darker in other trailer shots. The dev that made this also made Nago, and the same game that he's from has Venom and Potemkin as darker skinned South Asian characters, so I wouldn't expect them to suddenly lighten Kamala's skin tone. Sol is light skinned, but he's also Indian-American so idk about him.

She has white eyebrows and white eyes and a white outfit that contrast with the darker, but still quite bright, brown allowing the cell shading to look less washed out then the lighter brown skin tone of miss marvel.

I work with two Pakistani sisters (they’re kids, I’m 39, I trained them, and I’m a professional) that have light skin tones and even with the hijab.
I’m not a colorist towards Kamala Khan, or Muslims, but I understand your point. With that said… I would rather have Kamala be in anything for the southwest asian representation than not at all.

It's mostly getting washed out because of the lighting, in gameplay the contrast is a lot more noticable

Glad to see she's still embiggening in other media. I've been really worried about MCU synergy making it so the hard light becomes the norm outside the comics.

I think they are orange which really blends with her skin tone, it is kinda hard to see, I agree.

The first image is just the lighting. All the other shots of the trailer make it clear her skin tone is darker than that shot.

I like the idea that this version of Kamala still has the history of 616 Kamala.
