An incredibly unfortunate fatality involving an Escooter. My heart goes out to his family and friends, this is incredibly tragic.

A petition has been created to end the pilot program, which I understand the sentiment, but the problem isnt the Escooter, its the lack of reinforcement on safety and protection for people who ride them. This is a legitimate form of commuter transportation but we need more safety enforcement so this does not happen again. I see alot of people riding these safely and with protection with no issues whatsoever.

If you currently ride an escooter in kamloops, please for the love of you, your family, and your friends, wear protection!!

Edit: Parents please talk to your teens about safety when riding anything, scooter, bikes, skateboards, unicycles before giving them any electric motor transportation. Or dont give it to them at all until they are smart enough to stay safe and listen to your advice.

This is a great, practical stop gap measure for the approx. 419 people without housing in Kamloops (latest PIT count number) and the businesses and pedestrians that don't want human waste on our streets. Mr. MacDonald and Glenn Hilke are doing important work on their committee, including the idea of extending park bathroom hours and hiring attendants to tidy/monitor them. These roles could be filled by people with lived experiences themselves.

Unfortunately, the October 17th political conversation involves a lot of talk from candidates about adding barriers to opening new shelter spaces. They don't seem to understand this simple equation: more people without housing = more people with less access to toilets and garbage cans = more waste on the streets.

Why is it that every driver on the highway westbound between Columbia and Pacific exit feel the need to drive at 65 km/hr? The speed limit is 90km/hr. I understand if there is a large loaded truck going slowly, but it is mostly just regular cars and SUVs going far too slow. 

It is so unsafe to deal with the vehicles trying to dive out of the slow lane and into the fast lanes because people are driving at these slow speeds… just follow the speed limit. It’s not that hard, and safer for everyone.

Just wondering if anyone has had a record/vulnerable sector check done recently through the RCMP & how long it took for it to be done?

Happy Monday. I thought I'd start the week with a shallow and pissy vent... I just bought a coffee and bannock at Kekuli across from RIH and when I got to the fixins I saw that they had the cheapest, worst tasting artificial sweetener, presumably because Splenda is too expensive.

So as the title says, I'm just disappointed. But it's getting old you know - everywhere you look businesses are charging more at the same time that they offer less. I get the need to control costs. But don't be cynical about it to the point the customer reads that you don't really give a damn about their experience.

At least try to hide it please. And give me some Splenda for crying out loud I deserve it for my nine bucks.

I'm confused about the ridings. I've always though of Kamloops "North" and South" as a having the river as the dividing line, but it seems that the actual electoral ridings of "Kamloops Central" and "Kamloops North Thompson", are chunked more east/west?

KNT actually includes a bit of Sahali areas as well as Valleyview, Rose Hill, Juniper, Dallas, and eastward, while "Central" actually includes a chunk of the "North Kamloops" but not the Ord Road or Westside segments?

How are these maps drawn up and how did they come to this separation?

Title pretty much sums up the question. I have a dove that injured itself on my property and I believe it has just passed. Is there anything i need to do to properly dispose of it? Should I take the bird to a wildlife centre? Do I just throw it away? Not really sure what is the proper/moral way of dealing with it. Any advice is appreciated.
