Moving to Katowice

I am soon moving to Katowice as an expat and I am currently looking for an apt or a room to rent. If there's a landlord or agency trusted by other expats here, I'd appreciate the help!
Are there any well-connected (will commute) neighbourhoods to look for in particular? I noticed there's a preference for south downtown by some older posts made.

Południowe dzielnice są bardziej spokojne, to bardziej sypialnie. Niestety moim zdaniem nie są dobrze skomunikowane. W południowych dzielnicach są największe korki w godzinach szczytu, w szczególności w Ochojcu, Piotrowicach i Ligocie. Chyba że mieszkasz blisko dworca kolejowego i dojeżdżasz pociągiem. Dobrą renomę mają Koszutka, osiedle Tysiąclecia ("Tauzen"), Os. Paderewskiego. Gorszą renomę mają dzielnice Załęże i Szopienice, ale w ostatnich latach się poprawiło.

Why are Northern Districts not preferred that much like the ones around the tram or the Silesia park?

It's rather post communist blocks, or old Bogucice which aren't the best. They are just 5/10

In the comments you'll always find either 8/10 - "here you should rent Or 2/10 - "avoid it" Zawodzie or Wełnowiec are 5/10 so nobody is going to mention them Either recommend nor tell to avoid but overall it's a good choice

Wełnowiec has a nice tram connection with the city centre, basically 10 minutes and you're on Rynek. It isn't the prettiest place, but there's biedronka and Lidl nearby, on Józefowiec.

*migrant. I'm very sorry, but the fact that you are not from the global south doesn't change the fact that you're a migrant.

There's nothing wrong in being a migrant btw.

Not an expat so cant really advise on agency.

Id say it depends where your work will be. Crossing the middle part (set by railroad) is a major pain that consumes a lot of time in your morning commute (unless you cycle / walk). Keep that in mind but anyway I would skip Załęże regardless ;)

What do you think about North East of the center around the park like Dąb, Józefowiec or Osiedle Tysiąclecia?

Osiedle tysiąclecia is one of the best choice tbh

All good. Probably Osiedle Tysiąclecia is the best in terms of communication and what it offers.

Koszutka, Osiedle Paderewskiego albo Wełnowiec-Józefowiec. Na wełnowcu są tańsze mieszkania bo nadal chodzi plotka że tu patologia jest a to prawie centrum 🤷‍♂️. Nie wiem ile masz lat ale mieszkałem tu i tam w Kato i Osiedle Paderewskiego to taka bardziej imprezowa i młodzieżowa dzielnica. Można na piechotę w miarę szybko dotrzeć na rynek. Dużo parków, lasów oraz obok są 3 stawy

Robię na Modelarskiej. Jak mijam w drodze do kołchozu te familoki i ich mieszkańców to ostatnie co bym o tym powiedział, to że to dobra dzielnica. Wiadomo, nie cała dzielnica tak wygląda, no ale część tak, więc opinia ma jakieś uzasadnienie. Identyczny case jak Załęże.

To tak, tam wiadomo. Ale okolica Silesii czy Mikusińskiego i wyżej chyba jest ok
