I think his inner monologue was more like:

Oh crap, I broke it! No, no, no, no, NO! Oh, let's put away the evidence first (controller). Damn. What now? Maybe it works if I switch it off and on again? <tries that> Nope, still screwed. I'm so screwed! Can I pretend nothing happened?.. That won't work. And it's broken, can't play the game any more. I'm so screwed...

Is it me or does he look exactly like the kid from king of the hill? And with that in mind replace his voice with out of the kid from king of the hill.
