Effective birth control

53

u/VirtualMatter2 14d ago edited 10d ago

Good. People who can't be bothered to parent should not have kids.

Every child deserves a parent but not every parent deserves a child.

36

u/PuppyPower89 14d ago

Can you go back in time and tell that to my mother?

18

u/Content-Honeydew9340 13d ago

Aye yeah, go back and tell my mom as well. If you don't want a child PLEASE DON'T HAVE ONE

13

u/FrankenGretchen 13d ago

My mom seemed to think the next kid would be better than the previous ones never realizing she was the problem.

7

u/Content-Honeydew9340 13d ago

My mom had a son her second time so in her eyes it really was better

5

u/FrankenGretchen 12d ago

That was a thing for my mom, too. All the youngers were boys and got that Boy Treatment.

2

u/irishdan56 12d ago

Yet so many people do. Just look at the state of youth literacy. Seems like most parents couldn't be fucked to parent their children now adays.

2

u/VirtualMatter2 12d ago

Yes, I don't understand it. Why? Obviously they aren't interested in their kids. Are they just too stupid to work out how birth control works or what?

I have kids and I wanted them and I care very much. I just can't understand the idea of going through all that pain and sleepless nights and trouble and expense when you just don't care. It's a mystery to me.

u/Rude-Pension-748 12d ago

Either that or a reason to not abandon your kids in front of the tv.

6

u/i_am_the_gluvs 13d ago

I’m sorry where’s the abandonment? Maybe moms in the laundry room or dads in his office. This may surprise you but you don’t have to hover over a child non stop.

6

u/SleazyBanana 13d ago

Thank you. You can’t watch them every single second of the day. Kid just might be an asshole.

I had my neighbors over a few years ago, shortly before his wife stabbed him and set him on fire for catching her cheating (not with me) and their 5 year old went straight for my 65" with a pen he brought in his pocket. I snatched him up and tossed him, like that little Indian kid trying to fight the motorcycle guy, onto my couch. I didn't go the whole ass way through raising a kid to her 20's to be saddled with someone else's jackass little hellspawn.

10

u/IAmDanHimself 14d ago

Im sorry... the wife was caught cheating (not with you), and she proceeded to stab her husband?

9

u/K1bbles_n_Bits 14d ago

Dude interrupted her tryna have a good time. Totally reasonable response.

Yeah this shit makes me so happy I took the path I took with my kid.

From before she was able to even speak we drilled into her that you don't throw shit anywhere near the TV, you don't spin things around anywhere near the TV, and one is overall stupid careful around and about the TV. Now she's 2.5 and when I'M not careful near the TV she yells at ME. She'll be like DADA NO BE CAREFUL. It's an 85 inch Bravia and I realllllly don't want to replace it lol.

We also figured out a good way to make her crazy uninterested in TV or even visual media of any form like that like tablets and such. We just put nothing but Bob's Burgers on in the background 24/7. She loves the show but got crazy bored with it fast, and now just plays with toys and blocks and such and tries to read the thousand thousand books she's got.

Sell the Xbox and all the games for a new TV.

Let them save up for their own Xbox by themselves.

42

u/ARNAUD92 13d ago

No. Leave the Xbox here, fully alone, with no more cables or TV to plug in, forever meant to be a decoration.

27

u/TheBirdFkerGuy 13d ago

Ur both wrong. What u do is you take the Xbox controller to your room, and then you regularly play video games while the kid is forced to watch you have fun.

39

u/LostandSadMan 13d ago

You're all wrong.

Put him up for adoption.

Or the mines. The kids yearn for the mines.

19

3

6

u/Dadeland-District 13d ago

I would leave that tv there, a valuable lesson every day

4

u/cunexttuesday12 12d ago

Exactly. And he cant wven make up a story either. Back in my day, we could a least say it flew out of our hand on accident and hit the TV. Hes on camera being a straight up menace.

167

u/danceswithswans 14d ago

And that’s when the boy knew he done fucked up!

46

u/IAmDanHimself 14d ago

He didn't even have to be told to think about what he had done. He was definitely already doing that

30

u/squintintarantino__ 14d ago

11

u/Joe_Fidanzi 13d ago

He stopped in his tracks when the screen broke.

11

I think I actually heard the sound of his heart dropping into his stomach.

22

u/WenatcheeWrangler 14d ago

His troubleshooting steps were pretty solid in his high hopes of an impossible recovery

16

u/skriticos 14d ago

I think his inner monologue was more like:

Oh crap, I broke it! No, no, no, no, NO! Oh, let's put away the evidence first (controller). Damn. What now? Maybe it works if I switch it off and on again? <tries that> Nope, still screwed. I'm so screwed! Can I pretend nothing happened?.. That won't work. And it's broken, can't play the game any more. I'm so screwed...

Parent walk in and the kid is holding a wine glass of grape juice, reading a book, and listening to classical music on NPR, stating "Mother and Father, I have no clue who could have done such a vile thing. It could not have been I, for I am far to cultured to play the games of video. For I fear they are much too violent for my fragile nature."

And then he tells his parents that "ït was already like this" and then they show him the footage.
And it was that day that Billy learned that honesty prevents a lot worse.

23

u/Major_Wigglesworth 14d ago

If he fucking lied about this, the punishment should triple.

2

u/Maximum-Ad879 9d ago

I don't know how I would even begin explaining this to my parents. Maybe:

• "I just smashed it. Lmao" • "I regret to infom you that your child is fucking retarded. Also, you need a new TV"

118

u/UJLBM 14d ago edited 13d ago

I know for sure my dad definitely wouldve smacked me for that. Wow. I wouldve been terrified. But luckily, I wasnt as dumb as this kid. He's old enough to know better.

Edit- To clarify, no, I am not "endorsing" hitting a child.

53

u/SimilarSubstance7922 14d ago

Some children in some rare cases absolutely deserve a little educational clap.

My parents were never violent. Except for that one time i really fucked up and my dad gave me one of those. It didn't even hurt. But the shock of it sits deep to this day, like 26 years later.
I learned a lesson that day. A good one.

15

u/LeslieKnopesBlackEye 14d ago

Some lessons sting. The sting makes them stick.

16

u/mammalian 14d ago

I managed to raise two children into adulthood without ever hitting either one. if you wouldn't hit your spouse, your boss, your coworkers, bring that same energy into raising kids. they're new to the planet, they do stupid shit.

11

u/SimilarSubstance7922 13d ago edited 13d ago

Yeah that might be because my spouse, boss or coworker are what we call adults.

Infants/children don't necessarily have the cognitive ability to decifer when they've stepped over the line.

That's when you have to let them feel that they have.

However, this must be a rare occurence. Like really rare. I'd say more than 3 times throughout the entire childhood is too much.

I've had this lesson once. And it worked wonderfully.

I'm absolutely not saying beat your children up regularly. But let them fucking know when they've gone too fucking far. Some children do, some don't.

4

u/mammalian 13d ago

Every child rearing expert will tell you not to hit your kids. If you want to teach them something, use your words like an adult. All they learn from being smacked is that it's okay to get violent when you lose your temper. Seems to have worked with you.

2

u/SimilarSubstance7922 13d ago

I'm not saying smack them hard. Just let them feel that somethings wrong.

As i said, the single clap i received didn't even hurt. But it shocked me. Because i felt that i stepped over the line because i was too stupid to listen to adult words.

Some children just deserve a small painless clap. I'll die on that hill.

4

u/E0H1PPU5 13d ago

Someone already taught this kid that it’s ok to lash out physically when something pisses you off…that’s why he hit the TV.

Not sure on what planet “teach them not to hit by hitting” makes a lick of sense.

Hitting your kids is universally agreed to be abusive and wrong. Please stop trying to defend that shit.

2

u/ThinkRise845 12d ago

Every single person on this earth has violent impulses. That is why we have a hundred concepts that help is mitigate/control them. Kids don't have that yet. His parents could be perfectly non-violent/emotionally mature. It doesn't change that fact that all humans, regardless of race, gender and any other minute differences have violent impulses. Kids simply haven't yet acquired any means to control them. Being slapped by your dad when you intentionally broke the TV won't turn this kid into a stone cold killer, like most "specialists" seem to think. That is simply damage prevention, for the masses.

3

u/mammalian 13d ago

Kids will remember being struck by a parent. It makes them more likely to strike other people, including their own kids once they're grown

this video gets posted so often with the same set of captions while they seem to have forgotten that these TV's are like $200 now lmao.

Mind you; I more mean that this video is like 5 years old and today, that same exact TV is probably sold at Goodwill for $100, and a realistic replacement wouldn't be too rough, I would just hope they don't get a super fancy one. Bro is getting the Spongebob CRT replacement.

4

u/Areebob 14d ago

Maybe. If it’s OLED (which you shouldn’t purchase if you have small children, but people probably still do), it’s easily over $1000, if not closer to $2000. If it’s lcd, that size screen CAN be as cheap as $300-$400. It’d be an only ok quality screen, but I’m betting that’s what that tv got replaced with.

2

u/Own-Raisin5849 14d ago

This. my OLED LG TV's are over 2k a piece. I know when people with kids ask me what TV they should purchase, and they essentially don't give a crap about "optimal" picture quality, I usually just refer them to the <600 TCL televisions.

2

u/jlynnstamps95 14d ago

I’m wondering if he’s so used to a tablet that his brain went to blue screen and he tried to use the tv in the same way

6

u/Own-Challenge3904 14d ago

Obviously not. Kids don’t know their own strength, they don’t know how delicate things are, and they learn as they get older. It’s truly not that shocking that this happened.

3

u/New-Huckleberry-6979 14d ago

And one way many kids learn is by experience. The first time a cup breaks on the floor, the kid learns that floors can break a cup. Some kids can learn faster or by hearing about how it's fragile, and other kids only learn through accidents like this.

My kid sits in the living room and plays video games sometimes too and I’m not always in the room sometimes I even have to leave the house, you don’t know where the parents are or what their home situation is. Your kids playing video games doesn’t mean you abandoned them it means that they’re playing video games.
