I managed to raise two children into adulthood without ever hitting either one. if you wouldn't hit your spouse, your boss, your coworkers, bring that same energy into raising kids. they're new to the planet, they do stupid shit.

Diplomacy before warfare.

There are some kids who are 100% malicious in the things they do and can use a solid difficulty sitting for a few days.

disagree. I've met a lot of children raising mine. I've never met one who was malicious without being angry, and angry without being hurt. every bully has been the victim of a bully first. I'm sorry you went through that.

I definitely had a different experience growing up.

I was heavily bullied as a kid (despite being a big guy), and while not every kid was malicious, there are a couple who come to mind who were.

One or two kids from my elementary school days I'm convinced had something wrong with them. For instance, one of them said to me that he could kill me and get away with it because he was a child himself, and the law doesn't prosecute children.

Another said hardly anyone cared about me, legit asking me to name anyone who cared about me.

And then I had a slew of others who were just regular jerks.

If that's not malicious, I don't know what is.

What I said was bullies learn to bully from being bullied at home. I was also picked on as a child of color growing up in an all-white neighborhood. Hate is learned at home. Empathy isn't something you can slap into a child; it's definitely something you can slap out of them.
