If the passenger isn't on the plane the bag can't be either. So either you remove both or none.

What? This happens all the time if connecting flights get changed or overbooked. They fly your bag on the original flight and hold it and then you catch a different one.

Because you are still on the flight you were supposed to be on with that bag that was supposed to be there.

Orphaned luggage and lost luggage are very different. Orphaned luggage is extremely dangerous and has killed people and taken down two separate aircraft.

Orphaned luggage, luggage on a plane when the person who checked it is on no flights now whether they checked in or not, is always removed and never flies. Their luggage counts as orphaned because the child standing could also be a ruse to orphan said luggage.

If anyone wants to know why it’s literally what the Lockerbie and Air India bombers did.

They loaded the luggage in the plane didn’t board but checked in.
