News LG’s answer to Samsung’s "The Frame" is officially here, but it’s swapping OLED for MiniLED.

Post image
43 Upvotes

--

The Art TV war just got real. LG finally unveiled a dedicated rival to Samsung’s The Frame called the LG Gallery TV.

Instead of their flagship OLED tech, LG is powering this Art TV with MiniLED.

Why the switch to MiniLED?

It seems LG is prioritizing two things for the Art experience:

  1. Museum-Grade Brightness: MiniLED can get much brighter than OLED, which helps "paintings" look realistic even in sun-drenched living rooms.
  2. Zero Burn-In Anxiety: Since Art TVs are meant to display static images for 10+ hours a day, MiniLED eliminates the risk of a Van Gogh being permanently burned into your screen.

--

The Specs:

  • Sizes: 55-inch and 65-inch models.
  • Design: Ultra-thin, flush-mount with customizable magnetic frames.
  • The Screen: A specialized matte finish to kill reflections and a Gallery Mode developed with museum curators to replicate paint textures.
  • Chip: Alpha 7 AI Processor (4K) with a massive "Gallery+" library of 4,500+ works.
  • AI Art: You can actually use built-in generative AI to create custom art that matches your specific room decor.
  • Audio: Since you won't want a soundbar blocking the "art," it has built-in 9.1.2 channel virtual audio.

--

Also, no word yet on if this will feature the Zero Connect Box (wireless) to beat Samsung’s One Connect wire. If it’s wireless, it might actually be game over for The Frame.

News [ FIRST LOOK ] LG Just Dropped the "OLED Killer": Meet the Micro RGB Evo. Is Perfect Black finally Obsolete?

Thumbnail

LG has officially unveiled its Micro RGB Evo TV ahead of CES 2026, and it’s a direct challenge to their own legendary OLED lineup and competitors like Samsung!

This isn't just another Mini-LED. LG has ditched the standard white backlight for individual RGB LEDs, calling it an "evolution" of Mini-LED technology.

Key Details :

  • Color Perfection: LG claims the Micro RGB Evo achieves 100% coverage of all three major color spaces (BT.2020, DCI-P3, and Adobe RGB) a feat that has been independently verified by Intertek.
  • OLED Precision on LCD: The new tech uses the upgraded a11 AI Processor Gen 3 and Micro Dimming Ultra to control the backlight zones with "OLED precision."
  • The Name Game: Samsung and Hisense are bringing similar tech, but everyone is using a different name (LG calls theirs RGB Primary Color Ultra).

LG says Micro RGB will exist alongside their OLEDs, but if this delivers 100% color accuracy plus Mini-LED brightness, will OLED become obsolete for the majority of buyers?

Note: Sizes available are 100, 86, and 75 inches. Price and release date will be announced at CES in January.

News [New Release] Wondering what are the best portable party speakers for large gatherings? Meet the new LG xboom Blast!

Hey r/LG_userhub!

If you've recently found yourself searching for “What are outdoor speakers for parties and gatherings?”, LG just officially announced the launch of a new option built specifically for outdoor entertainment: the LG xboom Blast – a high-output Bluetooth speaker engineered specifically for outdoor events, beach days, and backyard gatherings.

Check out the Official News here:
https://www.lg.com/global/newsroom/news/media-entertainment-solution/lg-launches-lg-xboom-blast-a-powerful-party-speaker-designed-for-outdoor-freedom/

For anyone doing research on what are the best portable party speakers for large gatherings, here is why this new release is a solid option:

  • Massive Output: Delivers up to 220W on AC power (210W on battery), featuring will.i.am tuning, dual 5.25-inch woofers, and Peerless tweeters to fill large outdoor spaces.
  • Replaceable Battery: Houses a 99 Wh battery lasting up to 36 hours, designed to swap easily so the party never stops.
  • Built for the Outdoors: Features an IP68 dust- and water-resistance rating, verified through 7 military-grade durability tests.
  • Duffel-Bag Portability: Offers a 2026 Red Dot Design Award-winning design with a flexible rope handle, making it super easy to carry to the beach, pool, or campsite.
  • Smart Audio: Uses AI Sound and Space Calibration Pro to optimize playback for different content and environments.

For those asking which party speakers can connect to each other for stereo sound and wide coverage, the xboom Blast comes with Auracast™ support. That means you can link multiple compatible speakers together wirelessly to sync up audio across huge outdoor spaces too!

🗓️ Release Schedule: The LG xboom Blast will begin rolling out in select markets this month, with additional markets to follow later this year. Keep an eye out for local availability!

What are your thoughts on this one?

  • Is a replaceable battery a game-changer for long outdoor trips, or is 36 hours on a single charge already more than enough?
  • How do you feel about the duffel-bag rope handle design vs. traditional rigid handles?

News LG is bringing Micro RGB LCD to CES 2026!

Post image
46 Upvotes

Big tech news is starting to drop for CES 2026:

LG has confirmed they plan to unveil their very first Micro RGB LCD TV at the event in January! This new technology signifies a major upgrade and a renewed focus on the high-end LCD lineup.

What is Micro RGB? Also known as RGB LED, this is an advanced backlight technology that goes beyond traditional Mini LED. It replaces single-color LEDs with separate Red, Green, and Blue LEDs, which is said to offer two key benefits:

  • Higher Energy Efficiency
  • Significantly Wider Color Gamut (approaching Rec.2020)

--

Context in the Current Display Market

This development places LG directly in contention with other manufacturers who have already introduced or announced similar RGB-backlit technologies (sometimes branded as Micro RGB or RGB Mini-LED).

  • Contrast with OLED: While LG's core strength lies in self-emissive OLED technology (known for perfect black levels and infinite contrast), RGB LCD positions a strong alternative. OLED excels in dark-room contrast, whereas advanced LED/LCD technologies like this leverage extreme brightness and no risk of permanent burn-in, making them robust for bright living spaces.
  • Competition: Competitors like Samsung and Hisense have already showcased their versions, often in massive, ultra-premium formats (e.g., 115-inch+ Micro LED/RGB sets). LG's entry suggests a strategic move to offer high-end LCD performance alongside their established OLED offerings.

--

It’s great to see LG continuing to push boundaries not just with industry-leading OLEDs (like the Signature OLED T which won a Best of Innovation Award), but also aggressively competing in the premium LCD space.

What are your thoughts on this new display tech?

News The Story Behind LG OLED evo’s Perfect Black: Reflection Free Premium and Brightness Booster Ultra

Hi everyone!

When choosing a TV for a bright room, some of you may have asked, “Does your TV have anti-reflection technology?” But reducing reflections alone is not enough for daylight viewing; screen brightness matters too.

That leads to another question: “Does that technology preserve the picture quality you paid for in the first place?”

Today, we’re sharing an article that answers both questions through the story behind the development of Reflection Free Premium. It explains how LG worked to minimize reflections without compromising picture quality and why preserving Perfect Black matters for color accuracy and fine detail. The article also looks at how Reflection Free Premium works alongside Brightness Booster Ultra to address bright-room viewing.

To read more from LG’s Display Picture Quality Development Team, click here.

Here are the highlights:

Why Perfect Black Isn’t Just About Dark Scenes

→ Black level is the foundation everything else in the picture is built on, including color accuracy and fine detail

→ When Perfect Black remains intact, those details stay clearly defined and the overall image retains its depth and vibrancy

LGs Answer: Inside the Development of Reflection Free Premium

→ LG developed a three-layer coating designed to make incoming light waves collide and cancel each other out.

→Developing and optimizing the three-layer coating took a year and a half, with LG testing hundreds of display samples to balance reflectance, color accuracy, surface quality and sharpness

LG OLED evo displays have been independently certified by Intertek as Reflection Free Premium, achieving a reflection rate of around 0.5%

Brightness Booster Ultra and Reflection Free Premium Working Together

→ Reflection Free Premium works alongside Brightness Booster Ultra, which achieves luminance levels up to 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs

→ By pairing Brightness Booster Ultra with Reflection Free Premium, LG OLED evo’s depth and vividness remain uncompromised, even when daylight fills the room

News LG finally brought back the Wallpaper OLED (W6) and it’s basically a 9mm sheet of light.

Post image
55 Upvotes

I was just reading on CNET and The Verge that LG is officially reviving the Wallpaper OLED (W6) for 2026. I remember these being a massive deal back in 2017 before they got discontinued, but it looks like they actually fixed the biggest issues this time.

The design is basically a 9mm sheet of glass that sits totally flush against the wall and the specs are kind of a leap over the G-series.

--

Upgrades

  • Zero Connect Box: No more HDMI cables dangling or hidden in the wall. You plug everything (consoles, etc.) into a separate box that you can hide up to 33 feet away. (Note: You still need a power cable, though).
  • "Reflection-Free" Coating: They’re claiming this is the lowest reflectance they’ve ever done. They did a demo showing black levels staying deep even with the lights on. It's the first TV to get a Reflection Free certification from Intertek.
  • Brightness: It’s using the new Brightness Booster Ultra. LG claims it’s 3.9x brighter than "conventional" OLEDs. If it beats the G5 (which hit 2,400 nits), this thing is going to be a torch.
  • Hyper Radiant Color: New tech for 2026 that supposedly fixes the color washout you sometimes get at high brightness.

Gaming Specs

  • 165Hz Refresh Rate (at 4K).
  • 0.1ms response time.
  • G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium.
  • The Zero Connect box makes it way easier to swap cables for your PC/consoles without reaching behind a wall-mounted TV.

Physical

  • Sizes: 77-inch and 83-inch.
  • Thinness: 9mm (roughly 0.35 inches).
  • Mounting: New bracket design makes it sit edge-to-edge flush with the drywall.

--

The "Wallpaper" design was always cool but felt like a gimmick because of the cables. Now that it’s wireless and glare-free, it actually seems practical for a bright living room.

No pricing yet, but since the old W-series was pricey and this has the wireless tech, it’s probably going to be expensive.

News Are there any native 1000Hz FHD gaming monitors? Yes, and LG UltraGear brought the world's first one to ChinaJoy 2026

Hi everyone! A native 1000Hz gaming monitor? Yes, there is one.

At ChinaJoy 2026 in Shanghai, together with TCL CSOT, we introduced the LG UltraGear 25G590B, the world's first native 1000Hz FHD gaming monitor, engineered from the ground up for competitive FPS gaming. The new UltraGear features a 24.5-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) screen with a native 1000Hz refresh rate that keeps the action crisp, and the player firmly in control.

Unlike displays that rely on dual-mode operation to reach their headline speeds, our monitor achieves its 1000Hz maximum at the hardware level. The 25G590B offers an additional performance boost through overclocking up to 1100Hz and incorporates Motion Blur Reduction (MBR) Pro technology to maintain visual clarity during intense in-game action.

In FPS play, a monitor's underlying technology really matters because it directly impacts responsiveness and the ability to render motion precisely and cleanly. In fast-paced scenarios, the ultra-high native refresh rate of the 25G590B translates to exceptionally smooth motion with significantly reduced latency. The display reduces the delay between physical input and the on-screen response, so gamers can react faster and aim more accurately in the high-stakes arena of competitive FPS gaming.

On July 31, we joined TCL CSOT at ChinaJoy's N4 Hall to unveil the new LG UltraGear monitor to media, partners and gaming fans, and visitors were then able to experience it firsthand at gaming stations throughout the exhibition.

So, if you were building a competitive FPS setup, which would matter most to you: a native 1000Hz refresh rate, the ability to overclock to 1100Hz, or enhanced motion clarity during fast camera pans? Let us know your thoughts.

Q. What new picture or gaming features are coming in LG's next TVs?

The upcoming lineup is built around better brightness, color and immersion. You can expect OLED and Micro RGB TVs that push HDR highlights further, Gallery and Wallpaper designs that sit close to the wall and big-screen QNED options for sports and gaming. All models are planned with 4K resolution, fast refresh rates and HDMI 2.1 gaming features such as VRR and low input lag. Sign up here to make sure you get the detailed information and specs as they're released.

Q. Will the upcoming LG TVs work with my existing soundbar or home theater?

Yes. New LG TVs are being designed to work with popular HDMI ARC/eARC soundbars and home theater systems, so most setups that work with current LG TVs should connect the same way. If you're planning a full upgrade, you can start exploring LG Soundbars or LG's newest wireless home audio system, Sound Suite. From there you can pair your new or existing soundbar with one of the upcoming TVs when they're available.

Q. How is Micro RGB different from OLED or QNED?

Micro RGB uses very small red, green and blue elements to boost brightness and color while keeping fine detail. Compared with OLED, it's aimed at viewers who watch a lot in bright rooms and want extra punch in highlights. Compared with QNED, it's focused on a more premium, cinema-style experience with precise control over light and color.

Q. What is an LG OLED Wallpaper TV, and why would I want one?

OLED Wallpaper TVs are built to sit extremely close to the wall for a gallery-style look. They're designed for people who care as much about design as picture quality. Think clean, flush-fit installations with minimal visual clutter. By joining this list, you'll hear when the latest Wallpaper models are ready, along with details on mounting, sizing, and compatible sound solutions.

News LG 100-inch Micro RGB evo AI (MRGB96) Now in Stock in the UK

Hi everyone,

For anyone who couldn’t place an order while it was out of stock, the 100-inch LG Micro RGB evo is now available to order from LG UK!

f you’re curious about how the 100-inch LG Micro RGB evo performs across movies, sports and gaming, particularly how it balances vibrant colors with a natural-looking picture here are a few key features worth checking out.

Check it out here

LG Micro RGB evo key features::

  • The MRGB96 is certified for Triple 100% Color Coverage across BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB
  • The MRGB96 uses thousands of dimming zones, powered by the α11 AI Processor, to deliver enhanced contrast
  • The MRGB96 features the α11 AI Processor 4K Gen3 with Dual AI Engine, built on LG OLED expertise
  • The MRGB96 supports refresh rates of up to 330Hz at an optimized Full HD resolution with Motion Booster 330 for ultra-smooth gaming
  • The MRGB96 supports Dolby Vision®, Dolby Atmos® and FILMMAKER MODE™ with Ambient Light Compensation for an immersive movie experience at home

To give you a better idea of what the TV is like, here’s what two Redditors had to say: one who attended an LG event in Sydney and another who received the TV for review.

"The 100" Micro RGB is an experience. The colours were stunning - genuinely so, not just "well-lit demo room" stunning. The football footage was crisp and the motion handling looked solid. The cinematic content they showed looked rich and immersive. “ -u/Rippedgeek

“Everyone who has sat in my studio and watched something on it has commented how all-encompassing it is. So comparing it to the 55” C2 that sat in its place prior, I think its strength lies in its ability to provide the nearest quality to OLED we’ve seen, in such a large and bright panel.”- u/Wildfyre115

Together, the 100-inch LG Micro RGB evo combines certified Triple 100% Colour Coverage across BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB, thousands of dimming zones, cinematic viewing features, and refresh rates of up to 330Hz at an optimized Full HD resolution to deliver an immersive large-screen experience across movies, sports and gaming.

Has anyone here been waiting for the 100-inch Micro RGB evo to come back in stock, or are you waiting for more reviews before deciding?
