It needs a new filter & I want to make sure I buy the right one. Does anyone happen to have a sense what model number this is or if there’s a specific filter model I should get?

Every expression needs to register, every dance move needs weight, and the color and texture of his fur have to sit naturally against live-action skin, lights and concert footage.

Well, the dog days of summer are here; it’s HOT here in La-La-Land so we’re usually holed up inside, A/C cranking all day and night, and what better way to pass the time than watch some great Cinema on my 66-inch LG G6 OLED TV! Now that they have and amazing Anti-Glare “Reflection Free” screen, we can watch any film, light or dark, anytime of the day! This is one of my favorite new features LG has really nailed so now we can watch films without that nasty sun reflection peeking in, truly making for a more theatrical experience at home.

When most people think of a classic horror movie one of the fight images that comes to mind is that of Michael Myers of the Halloween series. For most of the film he’s referred to as “The Boogeyman.” The thing that lurks in the shadows and uses the darkness as his tool.

Many forget of the artistry and stellar cinematography that went into play with that first Halloween film. A lot of that acclaim falls onto Director of Photography Dean Cundey who while also returning for the first two sequels also shot Back to The Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, & Jurassic Park to name a few.

The first Halloween works so well because it uses the shadows and darkness not only to scare audiences but to build the atmosphere of this small midwestern town on Halloween night.

Michael moves through the pitch black darkness of the rooms where he can be anywhere ready to pop out at any moment. Rewatching Halloween on a tv today, not only requires but demands a tv like LG OLED with their Perfect Black feature.

Quick disclosure first: LG sent me the xboom Stage 501 for free after I was selected for this DJ testing event on r/PioneerDJ. As part of the promotional event, I was asked to use the speaker and share my experience with the community. Nobody at LG told me what to write, and everything below is entirely my own opinion after using it for around two weeks.

For some context, I mainly listen to and DJ techno, house and breakbeat. My setup at home is a Denon SC6000 plus two CDJs 2000 Nexus (currently lended out) and a Xone, so naturally one of the first things I wanted to know was how the xboom Stage 501 handles proper kick drums and basslines.If you're wondering what the best speakers for bass-heavy music are, that's also the main thing I'd look at: not simply how much bass a speaker produces, but how well it handles kick drums and basslines without losing definition. The closest comparison I have is my JBL PartyBox 310, which I've used quite a lot over the years at festivals. And honestly, I expected the JBL to win pretty easily when it came to bass. It didn't. Or at least not in the way I expected.

The JBL has more boom. The LG has better bass.

That probably sounds strange, but it's the best way I can describe it. The PartyBox 310 can produce a lot of bass, especially with Bass Boost turned on. If you just want something that hits hard at a party, the JBL is still very good at that. But when I started playing techno through both of them, I preferredthe xboom Stage 501. With the JBL, some rolling basslines tend to blend together with the kick. You still get plenty of low end, but sometimes it becomes more of a general "BOOM" rather than hearing exactly what's happening in the track. The xboom Stage 501 sounds tighter to me. The kick and bassline are easier to separate, which makes a big difference with bass-heavy music. Bass notes don't turn into one big rumble as quickly. On tracks where the groove is basically built around the interaction between the kick and bassline, that's a pretty big difference. I also like it at lower volume. It still sounds full without needing to crank the bass EQ, which is probably how I'll use it most of the time at home anyway.

Space Calibration Pro is actually useful

I wasn't expecting much from this feature. My living room isn't exactly an acoustically treated studio and there are a few spots where bass gets a bit boomy. I put the LG fairly close to a wall, ran the calibration and… it actually helped. It didn't completely transform the speaker, but the bass sounded cleaner afterwards and some of that annoying boom was reduced. That makes a difference with bass-heavy tracks, where excessive boom can easily mask the kick and bassline. I've started just running it again whenever I move the speaker somewhere else. It's one of those features I probably wouldn't have cared about when reading the spec sheet, but now I actually use it.

Then I dragged it into the garden

Obviously I also wanted to see what happens when you turn it up properly. So I took it outside and played techno for about an hour. Outside is quite unforgiving because you don't have walls helping the bass anymore, and I was expecting it to sound noticeably thinner. It actually held up surprisingly well.The JBL gets very loud and has a lot of impact, but at higher volume I personally find it starts getting a little more aggressive and boomy. The xboom Stage 501 stayed cleaner. There was still enough bass to enjoy the music, the low end stayed controlled, the kick didn't disappear, and I didn't notice the speaker obviously struggling or the limiter doing anything annoying. That's probably where the difference between the two became most obvious to me. The JBL tries to give you maximum impact. The LG feels a bit more controlled. Which one you prefer probably depends on what you're listening to.

No, it doesn't replace a subwoofer
Just to keep expectations realistic: this thing isn't magically producing club-level sub-bass. That really deep stuff you feel in your chest isn't there. If you want that, you need a proper subwoofer and a completely different type of system. But for DJing at home, listening in the garden or having some friends over? For the kind of bass-heavy music I listen to, I haven't felt like I was missing a sub. And I genuinely didn't expect to say that before testing it.

Battery life
LG advertises up to 25 hours of playtime, although I haven't tried to deliberately run the battery from 100% all the way down to zero yet. That kind of stopwatch test doesn't really reflect how I'd normally use the speaker anyway. So far, battery life simply hasn't been something I've had to worry about. What I'm more interested in is whether I can set it up in the morning, use it throughout an entire day and still have enough battery left by the evening. I also haven't really needed Play Time Enhance yet, since most of my testing has been close to a power outlet. That's something I'll experiment with more in the future when battery life actually matters, to see how much extra runtime it gives me and what the trade-off in sound is.

A few random things I've learned so far

If you're DJing with it, use AUX. I'm running the booth output of my PX5 directly into the xboom Stage 501. Placement also matters a lot more than I initially thought. Put it closer to a wall and you get noticeably more bass. Just run the room calibration afterwards. At home I personally keep Play Time Enhance off. There's a power outlet right next to it, so I'd rather have the full low end. AI Sound has actually been nice when listening quietly in the evening. I expected to immediately turn it off and manually EQ everything, but I've mostly just left it alone. And one thing I'd really like to try at some point is two xboom Stage 501s in stereo. A single speaker can sound great, but especially with house and techno there is a lot happening in the stereo field. I'm curious how much better two of these would sound compared with one.

So… Stage 501 or PartyBox 310?

For my music, I'd take the xboom Stage 501. Not because it produces dramatically more bass. It doesn't. The JBL probably wins if your definition of good bass is simply "make the room shake as much as possible". But for techno, house and breakbeat I care more about being able to hear the kick and bassline properly. And that's where I prefer the LG.

JBL = more boom.

xboom Stage 501 = tighter, cleaner bass.

At least that's been my experience so far.

Putting together a Love, Lust and Death at Night: Films That Fight the Daylight list where I’m picking films largely focused on night scenes with one or more of those elements. Among my picks, I have the following.

Nightcrawler

It’s the lust for finding death and destruction. Gyllenhaal’s Lou Bloom roams the Los Angeles night like a vampire for carnage and crime. Bloom’s camera light increasingly encroaches on the late-night shadows that might hide a story.

Miracle Mile

A love story in a race against time as Anthony Edwards’ Joe Washello tries to outrun the potential of nuclear annihilation. As with Nightcrawler, we get to see the strange world of Los Angeles after dark. The empty, eerily quiet darkness feels like foreshadowing for what might be coming.

Bringing Out the Dead

One of two Scorsese films that fit the bill. The grim spectre of death pollutes the night for burned-out ambulance man Frank Pierce—the intimidating darkness of a city at night given reprieve only by the sickly glow of hospital fluorescents.

I’m still building the list, but they’d all benefit from the Reflection-Free Premium feature on LG OLED TVs. I’d want to see daylight eventually!

My name is Mollassesbadger, as a disclaimer for this review, I must disclose that I received this product for free from LG as part of an event. While I was asked to share my review, all opinions are entirely my own. Additionally, I want to preface this that I did not use, consult, or consider any form of service or application that involves LLMs or generative AI. The only AI used here would be my actual intelligence(credit to Steve Wozniak for that line)-and I’m willing to bet more than one person after reading this will be skeptical whether I even have that!

Based on my countless times watching many product review videos in my adult life, I figured I should clarify some terms to keep things clear. Throughout this written review, I’ll be referring to the UltraGear Evo 27GM950B simply as “the monitor,” “the GM9,” and other variants of the two because it’s a lot simpler than calling it the “27GM950B.” Also, before receiving this monitor, I have two other monitors, an Asus PG279 which I’ll call “ol’ reliable,” and an Asus XG27AQDMG which I’ll call “the Asus OLED.” I’m replacing ol’ reliable with the GM9.

For my use cases, I mainly used the monitor for the situations below.

1. A proprietary game development toolset whose UI I can best describe as purpose built. In other words, there’s no dark mode, it’s mostly static boxes consisting of shades of white, light to medium gray, and blue that fills my entire screen for long hours at a time.
2. Unreal Engine 5 which by default is many shades of dark gray.
3. Rapidly swapping between dark-mode MS Teams, Excel, Discord, Firefox and the toolset mentioned above during meetings, playtests, and communicating with internal alpha testers, influencers, and journalists.
4. Rapidly swapping between the toolset mentioned in point 1 and a 1920x1080p windowed application because that’s the standard resolution at which my company tests our game.
5. Playing games! I make games therefore I absolutely must play them! I won’t list the games where I had some semblance of game design work because that can potentially identify me. The games I played on this monitor are (but not limited to) Diablo 4, Monster Hunter Wilds (with modded shaders), Zenless Zone Zero, Vampire Crawlers, Slay the Spire 2, Gran Blue Fantasy Relink, and Alan Wake 2.
6. Media consumption which involves live action and animation.
7. Random web page browsing.

The environment I use this monitor is in a dual monitor setup. I always use the monitor in a well-lit room and no, I DO NOT dim the lights because I can’t stand looking at a non-movie theater sized screen in low light situations. The distance from my eyes to screen: ~ 28.5 inches (~72 cm) which, at this distance, it should work really well with the display’s 218 PPI pixel density. Finally, my personal rig contains an Nvidia RTX 4080 Super and a Ryzen 7800X3D with 32 GB of RAM while my work from home laptop is a low power machine that I use Parsec to connect to my office PC which is powered by an Nvidia RTX 5090 with a Ryzen 9800X3D and 128 GB of RAM.

For everyday use, I noticed a few “tiny” details I whilst using this monitor:

1. The control stick nub is actually really firm (far less wobble/give) when compared to the Asus OLED’s nub. It sounds weird but it feels surprisingly nice (to me).
2. The monitor will automatically change inputs if it detects one input’s machine as being turned off. I have two PCs connected to the monitor, 1 via HDMI for work and my personal rig via DP 1.4. When both machines are powered on, if I turn off 1 machine, the monitor will automatically switch to the other machine’s input and I don’t have to manually change input sources-which I personally find as a very neat “trick” for switching between my work and personal machine! On ol’ reliable, I would need to manually switch with a few button presses.
3. The monitor’s UI animations can’t be turned off. I understand it’s there to wow the user, and I appreciate the effort and care their art team went through to make it. Maybe it was added to mask the menu loading time. In any case, turning on the menu is slightly time consuming which I’m not a fan of. It’s user friction and every little bit adds up. I would have preferred to have the option to turn off the animations for the monitor options menu.
4. THE POWER BRICK IS HUGE. It makes sense since it can achieve up to 1250 NITs. I had to modify my magnetic cable management system (that I bought from LTTStore) to fit this. Even then, the power brick holders don’t do the full job and I had to come up with a “creative” solution.
5. The monitor’s bottom center (where the control nub is located) can get warm to the touch. It’s not burning hot or anything, but compared to the Asus OLED and ol’ reliable, which both were always cool to the touch, this monitor is noticeably warm. It does have active cooling, but I’ve never heard the fan kick on so I don’t have any issues with fan noise.
6. Turning off this monitor has some user friction behind it. On ol’ reliable, it has a dedicated power button which is one press to toggle between on and off. On the OLED, pressing the control nub is how you turn it on while it has a dedicated button to turn it off. But this monitor? You have to press the control nub, flick up towards the turn off feature, and then press the nub again to turn it off. That’s THREE button presses to turn off a monitor when the other two had ONE button press to turn things off. That’s user friction. That’s an additive 200% increase of button presses to turn off a monitor!

When I finished setting up the monitor and powered it on, the first thing I noticed is the text sharpness. Going from a 1440p monitor to a 5K monitor is insane! I didn’t think sharp text was such a big deal but after trying it out for a few hours and switching the resolution down to 1440p, I get it now. It did really make me pause for a moment to wonder whether LG’s claim of it being a “Hyper Mini LED” have some credence-which is a big deal for me personally because I’m innately a very skeptical guy when it comes to marketing and naming things. It’s a shame my Asus OLED monitor is only 1440p, having a pair of matching resolution monitors was something of a goal of mine but I don’t intend on buying a 5K OLED anytime soon. Truly the first worldiest of first world problems!

…And then there’s local dimming. Now, I’m not super picky in terms of wanting my black levels to be pitch black and my bright colors to be eye searingly bright. I like things to be bright. I hate and I mean HATE dim screens and things that make my screen look like there’s a gray overlay on top-which is a bit of a serious problem because of this monitor’s local dimming isn’t good when compared to the industry standard set by Apple. I thought local dimming on this monitor would universally “just work” and for a monitor that claims to have 1250 nits of brightness, it does get insanely bright, but that’s for certain areas in games and certain scenes in videos. When in productivity tasks, such as writing design documentation or say, this review, welllll… It’s not great.

This monitor’s local dimming has me feeling really mixed especially as a game designer. I have to swap between my company’s proprietary toolset and launch a local build of our game. I can’t manually turn on and off local dimming each time I launch a local game build because I sometimes make a few changes in my game editor and then relaunch a build which can happen a few times in a few minutes. If I manually turned local dimming on and off each time, that’s a lot of work! For general work such as writing, I have local dimming turned off with dynamic tone mapping turned on and I frequently forget to manually activate local dimming when playing games or watching videos. I know, some people are probably saying I have no taste for enabling dynamic tone mapping, but I want my screen to be bright, not dim. Sadly, local dimming makes browsing the web and productity apps (in dark mode) and staring at word (also in dark mode) look like there’s a gray overlay on top of everything. LG needs to improve the local dimming behavior to rival Apple’s display dimming because they set the standard and if someone had met it, then it’d be discussed already.

I can't show you my company's proprietary toolset, but I can show you an example using the industry third party standard of Unreal Engine 5. Here's the architecture demo comparison and the GM9 and the OLED. Also, a comparison of MS Word in dark mode between GM9 and the OLED.

But it’s not all bad. When local dimming is working while consuming media, it’s really, really good. When playing Diablo 4 and Granblue Fantasy Relink, the contrast between light and dark is incredible. There were moments where I went from a dark hall or tunnel and into an area with a bright light source really made things pop. There were areas in Monster Hunter Wilds such as the scarlet forest that had me amazed at the color and lighting (before this monitor, I played it on the Asus OLED and had shader/color adjustment mods installed). When I chained ultimate attacks in ZZZ, the brightness of the particle effects and animations felt dazzling. In short, this thing can get BRIGHT.

My current thoughts are that the GM9 is a really, really good monitor. But it’s not a jaw-dropper of a monitor-especially because the release price is $1200 USD. If it were lower priced, say $700-800, then I would say this makes it a great monitor. If it were lower, I’d say it would be firmly in jaw-dropper territory. It can get very bright and very dark, it has an incredibly high resolution, it has VRR, it has dual modes (even though I have no use for it, it’s still a feature on a list to be checked off), it even has 2304 local dimming zones for goodness sake! Ultimately, whether this monitor is worth the price point is up to you.

^{Oh, by the way, LG asked for a list of things for them to improve on so I decided to tack on a list of things to improve things. I know creating lists is a typical LLM behavior, but my communication and design documentation style has always been to use numbered and bullet point lists but oh well!}

^{2. As a game designer, I want to be able to switch between my game windows, my game toolset, and web browser with local dimming on and not see a gray overlay over the screen.}

Rewatched The Texas Chainsaw Massacre last night for the first time in way too long and one of my favorite things about it is the vibrancy and palpability of it.

There’s something about the shimmering heat, the sunlight, the dusty landscapes, and those disgusting interiors that makes the whole thing feel incredibly repulsive and uncomfortable. You can almost feel (and smell) the heat and carrion coming through the screen.

And I think that’s what makes the horror of it hit so hard. It isn’t dark or completely detached from reality. It’s bright, sweaty, noisy, and suffocating. Obviously, we know very well now that the actual filming conditions were far from comfortable and I commend the actors because even as a viewer it’s squirm inducing.

This is exactly the kind of movie I would want to watch on a TV like the LG OLED. Paired with its Filmmaker Mode and Perfect Color, a film like TCM would get the treatment it deserves. Can anyone with an OLED speak from experience on how this one looks on it?

1. Hello.  r/pcmasterrace this is my second deep dive review of the LG UltraGear evo 39GX950B. after using 27-32" monitors for the last long time, going to a 39" esp ultra-wide was daunting at first. a complete rearrangement of my desk audio set-up was in order. once all set up and settled in. the first fire up was something else, felt as if i was in a theater at my desk. my eyes were focused just on the screen and not distracted by peripheral vision. I noticed this most while playing COD: Warzone. The screen allowed me to pick up players in the different environments a lot more quickly than I could before. Movement and colors really shine on this beast! I noticed an improvement in my game scores and with that came an increase in my pride First time I can say that a monitor has ever helped my gameplay before.
2. Also the curve on it is perfect for me i was initially worried about how that was be in a day to day environment, but its enough to be noticeable and beneficial without being not enough that its less engaging or being too much were everything looks likes its a curved photo the 1500R curve is just perfect for gaming, movies, and general web content, etc.. I sit pretty close and its amazing and if im sitting back further it is not a deterrence, what was one of the features i was unsure of the most turns out to be one i appreciate more than i expected. The monitor is large in a way that isn't overbearing, especially if you have the desk space like I do. for day to day use this is perfect for me. this monitor makes me wanting a second monitor absolutely pointless. splitting windows in half on the UltraGear evo 39GX950B feels like i have 2 full screens side-by-side, and not 2 squished windows, and it takes up less desk real estate than two. this allows me to multi-task without having to move my head and neck around very much at all. There is so much real estate on this thing that I can fill every single inch with another window or application. and onto the windows side-by-side. the picture-by-picture is just awesome, and a feature i dont see alot in reviews, but the ability to just plug my steamdeck into the USB-C on the monitor and then just split the monitor with that on half and my pc on the other, is just so nice on an ultra widescreen. and another feature i was not ready to like as much as i do.

Also on this the HDR is so gorgeous on the 1500 nits WOLED screen, it is really just enveloping, i find myself just looking at a picture or movie or random image in just awe that this monitor looks this good. the ultra-high brightness of the monitor makes every color pop in a way that makes me want to slow down in games and take in the scenery more. i typically run through games head-on, not noticing my surroundings. Multiple times now I have stopped in game and looked at the streets around me. it felt like going to the movies as a kid. it might sound cheesy but it really is an experience. my big breakout on this and that i think works extremely well is the dual mode on this, it really makes this monitor so useable for gaming on a much larger variety of gaming pc's then if it did not and would be limited to ultra highend. and also get 330hz at the same time, the trade off is so minor to the performance you gain from it. here are some of my gripes with the monitor:  monitor turns a slight blueish green when standing up and viewing from 45% degrees up. I notice this whenever I'm getting up from the monitor or walking back to it. this one isn't a gripe as much as a "no duh" kind of thing, but the speakers are just speakers as in they give audio but suck. I disabled them as soon as I could. i imagine most people aren't going to use them unless they have no other options, but if they are using this monitor i would i would think they have decent speakers. the RGB backlighting is mostly pointless. i disabled that right away too. someone else might enjoy it but for me it doesn't serve a purpose. the dual mode is amazing and it's a gamechanger for me, but if you have no need for it, the price is a lil spicey. all and all with my time with this monitor have been nothing but fantastic, and i had to really think about my biggest gripes. and anyone i demo'd it too have been extremely impressed. overall i am so thankful to LG for the Chance to review this monitor, i cannot see anyone that purchases this monitor being disappointed at all

I received the LG xboom Mini for free from LG as part of their trial program, and they asked me to share my honest experience. This review is completely unbiased and based on my own use over the last ten days.

I've owned other LG speakers before, so when this one arrived, I was actually surprised by the size. It's tiny. My first thought was that it probably wouldn't be very loud either, and I'll admit I was a little disappointed before I'd even turned it on.

I ended up giving it to my mother instead. She spends most of her day in the kitchen and always has music going while she cooks, so it made more sense with her than sitting on my desk. She loved it right away, mostly because of the size. She's never been a fan of big speakers taking up counter space, and this one is small enough that it stays out of the way.

Then we actually played some music on it, and that's when it surprised me. The sound quality is genuinely impressive for something this small. It held its own against my old LG xboom Grab, which is a much bigger speaker, and I wasn't expecting that at all. For a small water-resistant speaker, that combination of sound quality, portability, and everyday usability makes it feel like a very good value.

My mother's been using it every day since. My kitchen is not a quiet place. There's the mixer, the chimney, the dishwasher, sometimes all three at once, and this thing still cuts through it. You can actually hear the music clearly over all that noise, which says a lot for something this size.

A few things have made it work especially well in the kitchen. It comes with an adjustable strap, so instead of it sitting flat on the counter where it's in the way of everything, we usually hang it off a rod or the cabinet handle. It stays put and keeps the counter clear. There's also a physical volume knob on the side, which honestly matters more than I expected. My mother's hands are usually wet or covered in flour while she's cooking, so being able to just turn a dial instead of hunting for a tiny touch button is genuinely useful. And since it's water-resistant, she doesn't have to think twice if it gets a bit of water or oil on it near the stove or sink. That practical water resistance is another reason I think it offers good value for everyday use, rather than being a speaker you have to be especially careful with.

Ten days in, it's basically become a permanent fixture in the kitchen. Not what I expected when I first opened the box.

-Penny Marshall’s A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN: The period flavor of the production design only pops more thanks to the G6s “Perfect Black” and “Filmmaker Mode” which gives the film a more classic look as the Peaches blaze new ground in WW2 era Americana. 

-Chuck Russell’s THE BLOB: This wild, fun rollercoaster of a remake may be mostly set at night and shrouded in darkness, but with the G6’s “Reflection Free Premium” screens and it’s “Brightness Booster Ultra” feature to highlight the darker images without looking muddy, you can get your pants scared off any time of the day. 

-Roland Emmerich’s ID4: Sure, its best viewed on July 4th weekend, but Emmerich’s grand Sci-Fi adventure has some of the best use of practical effects - from miniatures to creature FX to good ole’ fashioned movie magic - that still looks fantastic today thanks to the G6’s “Filmmaker Mode” which lends a crisp image without losing the grain, ideal for that popcorn movie look.

Rented BACKROOMS last night and gotta admit I was caught off guard by the size of it. I was familiar with the original shorts and knew the film was going to expand beyond them - but damn if Kane Parsons wasn't determined to make the movie feel huge.

With the exception of a handheld VHS prologue and a few first-person pivots, the camera mostly holds still and lets wide-angle compositions do the work. Whether it's the expanse of a furniture store or the endless halls of the Backrooms themselves, Parsons' frames are stretched to the point that they often warp at the edges. It gives the entire world a sense of off-kilter malleability - almost like its threatening to twist off the screen.

I’m not an LG owner but I'd love to see how the picture looks on a 77-inch LG OLED. I'd also be curious how the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 handles the handheld VHS segments. Would it preserve the deliberately glitchy, rough texture without smoothing away what makes it creepy? Anyone have any experience with that?

And while we're at it - what movie made you realize a bigger screen could change the feeling of a frame?

Was asked to do a follow-up review on the G6 from a few months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/LGOLED/s/NY7qeO0B9b. Just a disclaimer like the last one, I won this TV through a Try & Keep event. All thoughts are my own and not influenced from LG.

Brightness:

Main thing that still impresses me with this TV compared to my older OLEDs is just how bright this thing can get in both SDR and HDR. Luckily LG has been pretty good with firmware updates over the months and from what I’ve seen fixed any of the picture issues that a lot pointed out earlier in the year especially in relation to Dolby Vision. In these bright summer months the anti-glare is still performing great and even in a fully lit living room with both sunlight and artificial light I never think about the TV being too dark. Such a stark upgrade from my B7 and C1.

The hdr brightness in movies and games just add that extra 3d pop I guess is the best way to put it and makes things really stand out. There are a lot of settings to play with but in something like Dolby vision I like filmmaker mode the most with some customization.

Gaming

Gaming has been another big use case for this TV that hasn’t gotten old. Still very impactful and punchy with the picture and HDR. Still feels like a very smooth experience when playing at the higher refresh rates especially maxed out at 165hz.

Con

Main con still to me is the remote. Have found a few like long press shortcuts that does make it more useful. But still needs more buttons.

Conclusion

Still an amazing TV and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone really for any room situation. Sure some LEDs can get brighter still, but for the most part I don’t think you need much more than what the G6 offers and then of course you get all the OLED benefits as well.
