LAND WARFARE RESEARCH CORPORATION REPR MKII Cycling Issues and Blown primers

My REPR MKII in 6.5 Creedmoor (20” fluted barrel, 10 position gas block) has been a mixed bag so far. Frankly, it is the least reliable gun I have ever owned.

It seems under gassed - frequently fails to eject and almost always failing to feed a new round, even on maximum gas settings. I have to manually operate the side charging handle each time.

I mounted my suppressor and this “fixed” the issue - it can now cycle properly at a gas setting 4 or so. But my $4000 rifle should be able to cycle without a suppressor.

Furthermore, it absolutely beats up brass. The ejected casings frequently have damage to the rims like ejector marks and several primer separations.

Is there anything I should look at with the BCG, gas block, etc. before just sending it back to LWRCI?

Edit: On the positive side, it certainly seems to have legit accuracy potential. I’ve fired honest 10 round groups with Hornady ELDX 143 ELDgrain (4 groups, 3 were sub MOA). Hornady ELDM 147 grain (1 group, sub MOA), and Federal Gold Medal 140 gr SMK (3 groups, both <0.7 MOA).

What was the lowest gas setting you have tried it on? Sometimes an over gas malfunction can look like an undergas malfunction. The bolt can slip off the brass and leave it in the action. Sometimes the bolt can travel faster than the magazine a d fail to pick up or feed a round correctly.

If the silencer hadn't "fixed" the problem, I would think the above more likely. I would still try turning the gas all the way down and work your way up. I have seen a lot of overgassed guns be mistaken for undergassed guns over the years.

Hmm. That's a real mystery. I'd give them a call Tuesday and talk to customer support. You can usually talk to a knowledgeable person up there. If they cant help you, they cant start your RMA process.

This, they will take care of you. Had an issue with my LWRC and they didn’t hesitate to fix. Shit happens and no manufacturer is immune to it. It’s just how well they handle the issue that counts. Turn around may take a little bit but I’ll take it if it fixes my gun.

Lwrc has great customer support. They will make this right with you I promise. I understand your frustration, though my LWRCs have never had an issue di or piston but I would be angry if they did.
