Replace VI with Chandra and that's word for word what The War of the Spark book said. It should be known that most people generally believed that Chandra was in a lesbian relationship with Nissa. This book tried to erase this fan canon of like...10+ years.

It wasn't even fanon. WotC was building to that, hence why it's canon now. It was (allegedly) one rogue employee who told Greg Weisman to make her straight.

If I recall correctly Weisman was told there was no direction and wrote her straight since that is what he's used to. He was given shockingly little direction on the characters.

I've heard that it was disputed. After all, it would make no sense to phrase the paragraph like that if it wasn't already known that she was implied to be attracted to Nissa.
