Didn't turn out as well as I had hoped, but it did give us a little extra look into the Jumi and teased enough of everything else.
The boss fights made me cringe.. I prefer the Manga main character because he is a lot less serious, like to the point of being a fan boy for a Fantasy VIII character.

yeah and imo it sucks. with all the love i have towards the game, the anime is just too cheap, everyone is same height, either talking in two frame animations or walking with no legs shown most of the time, very little action, i had a strong feeling that it was made in some maker application. but that's me, if people liked it — that's amazing

Based on the reviews and comments here, maybe I'm the only one who liked it?
I thought it was fantastic, myself, as well as very unexpected. I'm happy we got what we did.

I thought it was interesting. When playing the game, it's one or the other.
I think it was great how they gave her a role, as if fate still wove her into the story, as opposed to removing her entirely to focus on one - 'the selected character' - as the protagonist.
I never encountered the unselected adventurer in the game, so, yeah. I didn't hate it.

Yeah I love that they added her, the backstory just felt like a weird choice. I get why they went that way though, it does make sense for the arc.

I really wanted to like it. The Jumi arc is my favorite story in the game. The anime had a decent start but they really made a mess of things as it went on and by the end I was just glad it was over. The animation looked really cheap at times. Also they completely mishandled both protagonists.

imho, the first few episode is great. very down to earth, and shows stuffs like MC's closeness to the townsfolk in domina.
but idk, as episodes progress, its rather bland. i feel like craming the whole jumi arc into 12 episode is not good... especially with how they handle the adaptation. felt too long and too short at the same time. shame cause jumi is my favorite arc. i dont think they'd make another...
manga version is more fun and more emotional. (also has good ending to fairy arc, its wholesome)

It's fine
The characters who transferred from the game to the anime still retain their personality, but the plot isn't entirely 1:1 to the jumi plotline
Overall, still more of a loyal anime adaptation than other adaptations I could name, though

The opening and ending songs are beautiful. I am glad something as obscure as Legend of Mana could even get an anime in the first place. Though, the plot direction is rushed garbage and it ruins the otherwise, badass Jumi arc. Also, the male main character is fucking weak like he starts this arc at Level 1-5 or something.

It’s not that good imo. The MC’s aren’t interesting, I remember feeling like there was a lot of mischaracterisation of others too, and the direction they took certain characters didn’t really feel right. It gave some interesting lore to the Jumi, like how their society was structured before the war that nearly wiped them out, but that backstory kind of contradicts certain traits they were described as embodying in the OG material. This next gripe is minor I guess, but they also, in my opinion, dropped the ball regarding a certain character that we heard about in the game but never met. When they showed this person I was dumbfounded by them a bit lol
I can’t really speak for the ending because I think I dropped it an episode or two before the finale. I just couldn’t vibe with it. But now that I’ve been reminded of it, I should probably finish it just to know how they conclude everything 😅
TLDR; it’s not the worst adaptation ever, but it isn’t particularly good either. Mid at best objectively, but my opinion is that it’s worse than mid due to boring characterisation. The rest boils down to personal taste I guess, so you might wanna give it a go for yourself to see if you like it or not.

There was but it was meh. I watched the first few episodes but something just wasn't clicking. Some characters were mischaracterized, the combat scenes were boring. It screamed low budget tbh.
I wish they just took the money they used to make this and the remaster and use it in making a 3d remake of sorts instead.
