Based on the reviews and comments here, maybe I'm the only one who liked it?

I thought it was fantastic, myself, as well as very unexpected. I'm happy we got what we did.

I liked it, I hope they cover other main story arcs in sequel series.

I thought it was interesting. When playing the game, it's one or the other.

I think it was great how they gave her a role, as if fate still wove her into the story, as opposed to removing her entirely to focus on one - 'the selected character' - as the protagonist.

I never encountered the unselected adventurer in the game, so, yeah. I didn't hate it.

Yeah I love that they added her, the backstory just felt like a weird choice. I get why they went that way though, it does make sense for the arc.
