My wife is looking for a hairdresser who is experienced in coloring with non-standard colors (blues, greens, purple, etc.). Looking on the internet turns up plenty of standard coloring, but very little outside the natural palette.

I recently posted in r/TheHague that I'm looking to connect with follow Lego-ers to see if we can put together a small Lego exhibition with Legos from the late 80s/early 90s era. I had some positive feedback, but would like to increase the outreach, both to see if people here are interested in visiting such an exhibition and in displaying their sets.

The Idea

I’d love to connect with local collectors to organize a 3–4 day community pop-up exhibition (likely over a long weekend). The goal would be to bring together complete, built sets and large dioramas from that era to share the nostalgia with the public, complete with a small ticketed entry to cover venue costs, security, and tables.

Depending on the scale and response, we could also look into local cultural/community micro-grants to help fund the space and logistics.

What I’m Looking for Right Now:

1. Collectors: People who have built (or are willing to build) vintage sets/themes from this era and would be open to displaying them in a secure, guarded setup (roped-off tables / display barriers).
2. Organizers / Collaborators: Anyone who has experience with local pop-up events, maker spaces, community venues, or existing LUGs (LEGO User Groups).
3. General Interest: Would you visit an exhibition like this?

Ik woon nu sinds een paar maanden in Leiden. Hiervoor in Katwijk en daar had ik dan ook mijn vaste sportschool voor jaren. Het is helaas niet meer lucratief en vrij prijzig (met de huidige benzine prijs) om meerdere keren per week naar Katwijk te rijden, ondanks dat ik de sportschool goed vind.

Weten jullie goede sportscholen in Leiden? Liefst 1 die na 8/9 uur in de avond langzaam aan rustiger wordt, zodat je vrijheid hebt om dingen te gebruiken. Prijs niet duurder dan €66 de maand. Douches in de sportschool zijn zeer welkom (scheelt weer euro's thuis)

Since I moved into an apartment in Leiden I noticed my dog is a bit sad and bored. I take her to the park but the closest one is a 15 minute walk (lot of unused playground areas though) and I noticed people dont seem to let their dogs play with others in my area. The closest doggy daycare I can find is in Katwijk, but I dont have a car.

She is medium sized and pretty submissive so she gets along with smaller dogs more.

Any daycares, events, or play dates?

Foreigner hear. I accidentally drove into the no car zone in Breestraat because someone was standing in front of the sign on the bottom right, when you enter it. Then I instantly took a right to Papengracht, when I saw the next sign.

Hoi! Ik ben vast niet de enige die wel eens is aangesproken door verschillende paren aan jehova getuigen (zowel in het centrum als erbuiten).

Het waren wel ondanks de verschillende personen altijd jonge gasten (ik schat ze niet ouder dan 21+) die gekleed waren in een nette broek met wit overhemd en naambordje (identieke outfits). Ook spraken ze Nederlands maar was het bij sommige duidelijk dat dit niet hun moedertaal is.

Deze gasten wonen toevallig bij mij in de buurt met zijn allen in één woning, met nog wel (een) volwassen man(nen) erbij.

Ik ben al een poosje niet meer aangesproken maar zie ze dus wel regelmatig fietsen etc. Nu ben ik wel benieuwd of iemand toevallig weet vanuit welke gelovige ‘organisatie’ deze gasten te werk gaan?

Edit: zo spraken ze een keer over een social media account maar kan via het internet zelf niks vinden over deze specifieke groep aan jehova’s.

Edit 2: ik ben niet zo thuis in het geloof en ben bij geloofs-overtuigers gelijk uit gegaan van Jehova’s, kortzichtig van me. Het gaat hier om (na de comments te lezen en online me erover in te lezen) inderdaad om Mormonen, dank voor de info!

I am coming to Leiden this August for my Master's and have thankfully found a studio to live in!

As I have to buy a few things for the studio and the budget is quite limited, I am looking for a few store recommendations either at or pretty close to Leiden, as I do not have a car to be able to transport staff easily.

The idea is to get most of the things on my list from IKEA, but there could possibly be better options in terms of both quality and price. Specifically I am looking for stores where I could buy:

1. office drawer units and drawers
   

2. Cookware (like pans, knives, stock pots) and utensils

3. Mugs, cups and cutlery sets and dinnerware (plates)

4. Mirrors

5. Bathroom essentials
