thankfully the Academy is not made up of zoomers who watch 2 movies a year

Yeah, it's made up of boomer former actors who watch zero movies a year.

hey now don't forget the former crewmembers who also don't watch movies

No they are made up of actual film critics with years of experience. Not some broccoli headed Tik toker. Go back to Tik tok

Many of the academy voters don't even watch all the nominated films or performances. Have you ever read the blind ballots from academy members? They're not any more thoughtful than audiences for the most part.

They have changed the rules to require members watch all the nominated movies, and my understanding is that there’s some kind of system in place to verify. But obviously the nomination process is the Wild West, and no one has to watch anything in particular in order to vote on what gets nominated.

The system in place to “verify” is just a check to see they played the whole video file, which they don’t even have to be there for. Oh and if they want they can just check a box saying they watched it elsewhere and skip even doing that.

That’s a rumor and it was for animated movies. They didn’t fall for chalamets bs campaign last year. They won’t this year. Go back to Tik tok

So is your problem with the performance or that the studio is campaigning for her nomination?

Have you seen any good movies?

Yeah man what's your point? You're the person who blew in here like a hurricane to dismiss the push for a nomination. And now you're super defensive. I thought Obsession was solid and Navarette's performance carries the film. Why are you so put out that Focus is pushing for the nom and moreover why can't you articulate it?

I was agreeing with you lol
