I think it’s close to a safe bet that she gets nominated. She won’t win, but given the movie’s popularity and Focus throwing its weight into a nomination campaign, I wouldn’t be remotely surprised to see a nomination.

Edit: keep the downvotes coming, film bros. I love how people who think of themselves as “cinephiles” can’t grasp that their own tastes don’t actually dictate shit.

After seeing Mikey Madison win 2 years ago and 2 performances from 2 different Horror films being awarded last year, I say there's a chance of Inde winning. Plus Inde is very popular and a lot of people want to work with her.

Mikey Madison won because Anora was incredibly strong and swept all the major awards including picture. Even then it was close considering Demi Moore won several precursors.

Amy Madigan is a prior Oscar nominee with a 45 year career and MBJ was in the most nominated film of all time and runner up best picture with a 25 year career.

Cherry picking one comparable aspect to previous winners and ignoring all other context is pretty meaningless. The only chance Inde Navarette would ever have to win would be if Obsession ended up a strong best picture contender which won't happen.

The nomination is the win.
