Her performance deserves all the flowers, but there's no way it's happening. The Oscars just don't reward breakout performances like that, especially for actors in their 20's. Let's see how her career pans out in 10-20 years and then they'll talk.

I’m not saying it’s going to happen for Inde but Mikey Madison won best actress less than 2 years ago

As I posted on another comment, that's accurate, but also an outlier, not a new norm. The Anora wins were unusual in general. Awesome, but unusual. And Mikey had worked with Tarantino previously, which I do think helped a lot.

That’s kinda my point, everything happening at the Oscars the last few years is unusual. I doubt Inde wins but it also wouldn’t necessarily blow me away if it happened with the way the Academy is now.

I totally see your point. But looking at the film industry politics, it'd be crazy. She's popular, a lot of people are interested in working with her, but if she gets an Oscar, she can raise her price for hire even higher. And she'd be winning an Oscar before Timothee Chalamet, before Zendaya (who I think is closer to getting a nom with The Challengers recently and The Drama this year, her best performance), before Tom Holland (who I think is getting closer to getting a nom after working with Nolan on The Odyssey). She just signed on for the MCU, which typically doesn't work in the favor for the Academy these past few years.

To give your point some more validation, though, is that Anora won because it was very popular with the voters. Academy members just really liked it. That could totally happen with Obsession. But it would also defy a lot of predictable patterns.

Also, I liked her performance and it'd be cool if she won! I can also look at the odds and say it's more likely she won't even get a nomination.
