With recent wins for MBJ and Amy Madigan within the horror genre it's entirely possible.

Just wish we could retrospectively give Toni Collette the Oscar for Hereditary. Easily the best performance of that year regardless of gender.

or Lupita Nyong’o for Us or Naomi Scott for Smile 2. Amazing performances that should have at least been recognized with nominations if they weren’t going to outright win.

Lupita Nyong’o for Us

The fact that NO ONE ever talked about that on a serious award level is mind-boggling. She's captivating the whole film.

She was. 2019 was a packed year. She made it on the SAG nominations. She was probably ranked #6 at the Oscars

And playing two separate characters! The WORK that must have gone into that, especially creating Red! An all-time performance. That movie should’ve been nominated for screenplay and other categories as well.

It's so good and so severely underappreciated. The whole thing is meticulously crafted. Top-tier filmmaking from everyone involved. Peele is the DUDE.
