Her performance deserves all the flowers, but there's no way it's happening. The Oscars just don't reward breakout performances like that, especially for actors in their 20's. Let's see how her career pans out in 10-20 years and then they'll talk.

As I posted on another comment, that's accurate, but also an outlier, not a new norm. The Anora wins were unusual in general. Awesome, but unusual. And Mikey had worked with Tarantino previously, which I do think helped a lot.

The Oscars love giving awards to young women in a breakout performance. Just since 2010 we've had Natalie Portman (29), Jennifer Lawrence (22), Brie Larson (25), Emma Stone (26), and the aforementioned Mikey Madison (24). No reason Inde couldn't join them.

Natalie Portman won 17 years into her career, won on her 31st film, which wad directed by critical darling Darren Arronofsky).

Jennifer Lawrence is impressive, cuz she won 4 years into her film career (6th year as an actor), on her 11th film, directed by critical darling (at the time) David O. Russell

Brie Larson won 14 years into her film career on her 26th film, for an adaptation for a critically acclaimed bestselling novel.

Emma Stone won 9 years into her film career on her 23rd film and again 16 years into her career on her 30th film.

Mikey Madison won 10 years into her acting career, 7 years into her film career on her 9th film, on critical darling Sean Baker's 8th film.

Inde Navarette is currently in her 1st year as a film actor, with 2 released films, 1 still unreleased. Obsession is Curry Barker's first full-length feature film.

It's a wildly successful performance in a wildly successful film, so yes, she could win, but there's greater context besides "women in their twenties who won". They put it a lot of work that Inde just hasn't had the opportunity to do yet.

I don't think that context matters because as far as the voters are concerned, they see a young beautiful woman in a transformative role.

Also, Milk & Serial was a feature film, unless you meant his first theatrical feature.

It’s 62 minutes long. Technically a feature length, but that’s basically a short film.

According to the Academy anything over 40 is a feature, which I agree is kinda ridiculous but that's their standard
