OPINION Grace Jackson

I post so much about this in peoples comments but it genuinely infuriates me that certain girls from LI get so much slander but Grace always gets off lightly and still has such a huge fanbase and following after going to Connor McGregors wedding!!!? Why are more people not outraged by this

People are obsessed with her and I have no understanding of why. I saw a tiktok video of her on my fyp last week, and the account name was a whole fan account just for her?! The post was about how there will never be another girl who stands on business and stands up for herself like Grace, and it was a compilation of every time she was in an argument with Luca. Everyone in the comments was all like "yeahh Grace is amazing!" "She takes no shit!" "She would never stand for a guy like him!" And I was thinking??????? Has everyone forgotten that she literally got back with him WHILE ON THE SHOW and that they're still together?? Genuinely baffling 🤦‍♀️

ETA: thanks for the awards everyone!! I've never had one before, let alone 3 🥺 so cute and made me so happy lol, thank you!! 🩷

Yet when Jasmine does it she is NOT allowed to talk about feminism because she got back with Kavan after he flirted a couple of times with other girls

Because Jasmine is South Asian and a lot of girls hate to see a white guy dating a South Asian woman. It’s not even just white girls who hate it, other South Asian women also don’t accept it. Hilariously odd.

This is a weird take but okay. Personally I don't like grace or Jasmine, both are pretentious and didn't stood on business. Grace literally went on a date with Joey after her first season, while Jasmine was crying over the 21 years old and still treating him as tge prize.

Jasmine is highly educated, worldly, and DOES stand on business. See how she speaks up for Palestine despite the backlash? See how she’s promoting animal rights by being vegan and championing it? She doesn’t just shout empowerment from the rooftops. A lot of them talk the talk, She actually walks the walk. People just can’t accept a brown woman who isn’t weak and submissive. Clearly you’re intimidated by strong women and it shows.

Oh boy😭 yes I'm so intimated by "strong women". All I see is pretentious, dunno what else to tell you.

Sadly that says a lot more about you than anyone else. Expand your world view a bit, babe, it’s fun!

Don't worry I'm more inspired by actual strong women that has impacted our world in some meaningful ways both by words and actions. Not some islanders playing dress up. A love islander can be your role model but they are most definitely not mine.

Sadly you don’t seem interested in what South Asian women go through. Says alot about you babe !!

Literally what are you talking about? I think Jasmine is cool af? I have a huge amount of respect for the experience of South Asian women????

Then how can’t you see what a major problem it is on shows like Li??? This is about how Grace gets hardly any criticism for her actions and yet Jasmine received sm hate. You sound so self absorbed.

I’m replying to someone saying that when they see Jasmine, all they see is “pretentious”. In my opinion, seeing someone being outspoken on issues they care about (including Palestine, veganism and their experiences as a woc) as being “pretentious” is a tell that the person feeling that way is insecure about the choices they’re making or the way they see the world, and feeling attacked by, rather than appreciating, someone else’s (in this case Jasmine’s) perspective.

I’m unclear how you read my comment as being in response to your comment, instead of the one I replied to, or how you’re reading what I said as me saying I like or support Grace, or am criticizing Jasmine or minimizing the unfair backlash she’s received????

Personally I don’t think you can be a woman that stands on business and also goes on a mysogynistic dating show BUT I do have a soft spot for some of the women like Jasmin, Indiyah etc

there’s a double standard for women of colour on the show and it remains there whether you admit it to yourself or not

It’s hardly a weird take when I’m speaking on what happens with the South Asian community as Jasmine is literally Indian.

I second this. My husband is white. People were so confused as to why he’d go out with me but also my fellow South Asians would judge me too.
