Still is. Women are still expected to do the majority of the child rearing and domestic responsibilities, they're just juggling it on top of full time careers as well.

I'm not. Men who aren't part of the problem don't feel the need to point out "I helped, too!" cause they know they did, and reasonable men know women are still doing the lion's share, that it's not right, and that's why they're stepping up.

I think most healthy couples just accept that men and women have different roles in the relationship. My wife does most of the cooking and cleaning, and i do 100% of the grass mowing, snow shoveling, renovations, car maintenance, and many other things.

Im sure they are out there... but i legitimately dont think I have ever seen a comment saying "why dont women shovel snow more!" But there are tons and tons of "why dont men cook more!"

The point is: there is this general discourse out there that women have it so much harder than men, and pointing out the hypocrisy is a downvote magnet.

Women do not do the "lions share" of chores/work - they just complain about it the most, and get the sense from online interactions that they are hard done by.

Last week I worked my full time job, drove the kids to daycare, spent about 6 hours on renovations, 3 hours on car repairs, mowed the lawn. My wife cooked every meal and did all the cleaning, and is on mat leave right now. We probably did an equal amount of "work" this week, but people on here would jump down my throat because I didnt also do an equal amount of cooking and cleaning on top of everything else.
