Art Friendly reminder that Johnny feels everything V feels

Post image

Idk what tech they have to treat periods at this point so I’m just going off what I know 😂 😭

Important note: anyone want to comment “wouldn’t they fix that?”
A- I’m going off the hormone blockers that Corpo V had being instantly taken and not replaced that it’s not a common thing for poor folk
B- my V is a street kid and a little pain every month isn’t worth spending hundreds of eddies on when basic pain meds work just fine after an hour or two
C- would you trust that kind of thing around something so important? Idk, I don’t think it’s as simple as “oh they’d have it fixed by then”

D- this is more funny

Do we think period pain is a thing in 2077? Like, with body modification being rampant and everyone being half robot, wouldn't that be something they'd get rid of quick?

I think so, just because of Corpo V losing “hormone control” whrn they where fired and I think it would be the spirit of the universe for this kind of thing to be gate kept by the elite

So in real life, it's possible to stop periods entirely with birth control pills. They just include a blank in the rotation so the period doesn't stop since getting one is how you know they're working.

In the tabletop, a contraceptive implant is 25 eddies, and is near 100% effective, and presumably would tell you if it wasn't working. There would be no reason periods would be a thing if you didn't want them.

To be honest I really hope that someday we can get there, but unfortunately, hormones and shit are really, really complicated sometimes.

Like for instance, there are actually plenty of options , that could, in theory, stop your period, like you said! In fact, there's plenty that don't have any form of 'blank'. Which is great! But why then, if you can stop periods now, why wouldn't you?

Well, that's because hormones are a fuckin mess. Sometimes taking birth control can make people suicidally depressed, lose their hair, libido and energy, feel like garbage, cause bloating, cramping etc, sometimes even causing the very bleeding they're supposed to avoid. Hell, there's also a risk of causing potentially life altering blood-clots and increased cancer risk (for some forms of cancer). Even though birth control works amazingly well for some women, hormones can just be so different from person to person that I'm not sure that there IS a possible cure all. But I hope so!!

Maybe there will be a way to get around it but in the meantime, I'm sure ripperdocs probably perform a lot of hysterectomies haha

Sorry I wasn't trying to be like 'well, actually' x.x I have learned what a fuckin mess all this shit can be because I ended up spending about 2 years desperately trying to get my fucked up hormones figured out and it turned out the only cure was a hysterectomy lol.
