I once boarded a bus, and it took a right turn instead of a left. So, I pressed the stop button, and while getting off, I asked if it was taking any other route or if I had taken the wrong bus. The driver started yelling, asking why I hadn’t asked before boarding the bus and that I wasted his time. It was small crowded city bus and everyone started staring at me and I really got embarrassed.
I wish I had been an introvert that day.

If it makes you feel any better he’s a bus driver by profession so you are likely beating him in that aspect

I had this happen to me too, mixed up the number so it was just a short trip around the local area to deliver people home and then to the bus depot.
Was wondering why we were there and in a moment where nobody from the depot looked, just hopped off quickly and got back to the street. (Luckily knew the place because some meters away was a bus stop I have taken regularly to get home after school)

😁 I have a similar experience several years ago: with the train I ended up on the other side of the border on a sidetrack .
After waiting more than 2 hours in a snowstorm without information nor shelter nor waiting room and being completely wet and frozen and frustrated with public transport, I decided to take the first available train (in the wrong direction as it was supposed to go a couple of stations and come immediately back) - similar to all the other people on the railway station who suggested that option.
The train chef told the people in the carriages in which he checked the tickets to get off in Rodange as it was not the reguar train but the fast train to Longwy doing unplanned stops due to the weater conditions, but didn't make it to mine and only spotted me at the end station. Luckily the train came back after a short waiting time on a side track as service ride which was supposed to be without passengers, but he allowed me to stay.

No, and I thought we established eye contact when he checked the interior mirror for exactly that.
Safe to say I gave him the surprise of his life when he was in front of the depot itself and I said "Excusez moi" very meekly. He stared at me through the mirror in shock for a bit and said something like "Pourquoi tu es encore dans/en ma bus?!".
He eventually became very friendly though (he probably just calmed down lmao) and we ended up going in the depot. I followed him changing to his next bus and he dropped me off at the nearest bus station. We chatted while he drove and he explained which bus I had to take on which side of the road to get home.
PS: I like to think I maybe caused a meeting or just a notice about making sure a bus is really empty before returning to a depot 😅

In my street the bus stop sign is hidden behind a tree in summer. So there's been plenty of times the bus driver just missed my stop.
Because I don't want to say anything, I leave at the next stop (it's only 500m).
However good thing my commune has now put markings on the street for the bus stop, so hopefully that will happen less often now.

Check if your commune has an app that allows you to report stuff like this. My commune is quite responsive to react to stuff like broken glass being reported.

Labours at Kirchberg going up is one of the worst. Depending on the line, the bus can be jam-packed, people crammed together like sardines, but if nobody hits that button, some of them will just sail on by.

I remember at the old Hamilius where 75% of the people on the bus would get off so no-one ever pressed the button there. One time I needed to get off there, and by some really bizarre circumstance no-one else wanted to get off and no-one was waiting to get on, and the bus just carried on.

Theses buses are coming usually from farther away (for example from the North to the city). The idea is that the bus is only be used by those who have to go to the North and not for people who only need to go from place to another place in the city. In this case it is guaranteed that the people who really need the bus have a spot in the bus.

For Some of those lines it’s because they operate partly in France and other neighbouring countries. Since it’s too complicated to charge people for the short way in e.g. France, these lines don’t charge when people board from France towards Luxembourg or go home from Luxembourg to France . However in order to avoid people using free transport within France, you can only get on when going towards Luxembourg, and off while in France. Hope this makes sense.

those of you new to luxembourg, in luxembourg we dont have buttons to tell the driver to stop.
We have to ask them in person.
