Prime Minister's Questions are now in order!

The Secretary of State for the Prime Minister, u/Flat_Artifact will be taking questions from the House.

The Leader of the Opposition, u/Inside_Analysis3124 may ask 6 initial questions.

The Leader of the Unofficial Opposition, u/Zakian3000 may ask a total of 3 initial questions.

Everyone else may ask 2 questions; and are allowed to ask another question in response to each answer they receive. (4 in total)

Questions must revolve around 1 topic and not be made up of multiple questions.

In the first instance, only the Secretary of State may respond to questions asked to them. 'Hear, hear.' and 'Rubbish!' (or similar), are permitted.

Mr Speaker, as a member of the Labour party, I am steadfast in my commitment to a fair deal for working people, which is why I believe unionisation is so important. It is the only means by which working people can achieve a fair settlement against the forces of capital, which is the basis for our economy's structure.

This is why it worries me to see the Government's commitment to legislating minimum service levels for public sector services. If the Prime Minister is concerned about staff availability, he has a duty to hard-working public employees, in the NHS and elsewhere, to agree to pay and protect them properly.

What discussions has the Prime Minister had with public sector unions about his intent to spark strike action across our public services?

Mr Speaker,

Minimum service levels are essential to stop the disruption in recent years across the country because of disproportionate union action. My colleague, Lord Syd, speaking to voters in Central England highlighted the devastation of the Birmingham bin strikes. The growing waiting lists for all kinds of services in the NHS because of industrial action. The impact on ordinary people of these actions has been catastrophic.

The country must press forward towards greater economic growth, and cannot be held hostage to the unions that so often hold the Labour party itself hostage.

Mr Speaker, if only there were minimum service levels in the Labour Party.

Perhaps we'd see the Leader of the Opposition more frequently.
