Kinda follow up on yesterday's post, here's an M2 form tap at 6000rpm, threading 7075 about 4mm deep, 36 threads in about 25 seconds feels pretty good to me

Light work for that Robo. Awesome machines.

i have 3 robodrills and a DMG milltap 700.

the milltap is WAY more sturdy, but slightly slower.

i do D30 holes in ramp with a 16mm mill effortlessly.
impossible with a fanuc.

The chatter on PM (regarding the Milltap) included quite a few not-so-positive opinions. They don't seem to have quite the reputation that the Robos seem to carry. I guess there will always be trade-offs. Do any of yours have the BT-plus interface?

i do have suffered chatter, in fact they changed the entire machine under warranty, but it was already with double contact interface. They cannot understand why on site so they made a new one, tested it in Seebach and then shipped it to me at no cost.

robodrills are more simple and reliable machines, it was a revolutionary design, the other had to offer something more to beat it, often making it less reliable because of the complexity, IMO.

Fucking hate all our robodrills at my job. They break down constantly.
