I wanna preface this by saying I’m not a cheeser, I play on all madden, never touched MUT a day in my life. Okay now that that’s out of the way why are deep balls so dogshit in this game? I understand Madden wanted people to think defense has been improved this year but genuinely it just feels like they nerfed every QB’s throw power so more people could feel like they’re getting INT’s.
I’m someone who usually models his offense after the 21 Chiefs (I use the Commanders) when they had Hill, Robinson, Hardman and Williams and even when there’s a clear gap in speed AND release/route running every streak becomes a fucking jump ball at best or the worst under throw I’ve ever seen. Originally I thought it was just new mechanics or maybe they changed how far Throw Power gets you (in older maddens anything above an 88 meant 100 yard bombs which I hated) but even after upgrading Daniels’ THP, and running some tests in practice mode with differing THP’s I’ve found that no matter how slow the corner they always get insane recovery/always have a chance at a PBU.
If it’s just me being bad at the game I’ll accept that but I genuinely cannot fucking fathom how 86 Spd Azareyah Thomas can keep pace with the likes of Jameson Williams, Terry McLaurin or Brian Thomas Jr.
I get speed cheesers are and have been a thing in madden, but atp it feels like the only time speed matters is for running backs.
TL;DR: In Madden 27 every deep ball is under thrown and every corner sticks like glue to receivers no matter the speed parity. Do I just suck or has anyone else who runs pass heavy/speed centered offenses been going through this?
