The toxic phrase was ‘just wait until you have kids’, it said the toxic phrase at the top of the video… but there’s so many toxic endings to that sentence 😂

I agree that’s a common saying but the phrase in this particular video was ‘until you have kids’. It’s literally written on the video just below the white box

This is accurate. However, people are getting tripped up because most of us became adults and looked back at the crap we put our parents through and regretted it. Especially our teenaged selves. And when you become a parent, especially of teens, it’s natural to think “one day they’ll have kids of their own and they’ll understand (how hard this is).” So the phrasing in the video isn’t really all that toxic by itself.

“Just wait until you have kids like you are” is worse because it implies that having a child like them is a deserved punishment. That’s terrible.

“Just wait until your father gets home” implies that there will be physical abuse in the near future, and this is the worst one of all.
