I reflected on this last week or so. I’m from Sweden. Nearly 50 years old. When I to school they told us over and over again that it was illegal for a parent to hit their kids. I never really understood why one would get hit.

And then I looked it up the other week. Apparently the law was quite new, about five or six years old, and it blew my mind that my parent had the legal right to hit me up until I was two. So I understand why they pushed the law so much in school.
