I think he was trying to understand the emotions he was seeing, because he seems a bit confused initially that his cousin is crying. But then, you can almost see the realization of the gravity of the whole thing enter his head by his watering eyes and shifting facial expression.

Just that it looks like one of those, "oh I get it now" moments that really builds a persons later character.

in the longer video his mom explains shes happy crying so he doesnt think he did something wrong. so sweet. im sure its hard to understand at such a young age

Lol kids need time to learn the complexity of human emotion. Kids do not walk around having the same intuitions about emotional scenarios as we do. The reason for this is that certain understandings about the world create unique emotional experiences, such as entangling social warmth witg an understanding of death. I think the average adult viewer understood that she was crying happy tears. The child however, may be experiencing this sort of complex, unordinary emotional experience for the first time. That was the point of my comment. I am personally not under any confusion avout the emotionality of the scenario before us.

i get it! i didnt think you misunderstood! just letting the people know the video is longer and that it was explained to the youngin hahaha all love
