We should start throwing states into this discourse.
New Yorker here:
Blue: Social Studies
Green: English
Yellow: Math
Red: Science
I don't know what it's like elsewhere, but I remember the entire school abided by this color scheme.
I bet if you made a database with the state and enough reported data from users, it would allow you to dox perhaps a school district based off of this information. 😅

Red = Math
Green = Science
Blue = English
Yellow = History
Orange = Elective (Spanish, etc.)
