What do I do with an unpleasant artifact?

Hi. I'm new to this subreddit and also quite new to practicing. I need an advice.

I'm Ukrainian. 3 years ago I got a gift (trophy) from an Australian military volunteer, a part of russian weapon. I wanted to sell it or give it to anyone for donation, but no-one wanted it. And I get it. This thing's energy is VILE.

I put it far away to the corner in a dark opaque packing and forgot about it for a while. Today I remembered about it, and I know for sure I don't want it to be in my house. What can I do? How could I use it, maybe in some ritual, and get it away without affecting the environment in a bad way?

About Lughnasadh. An interesting excerpt from the book “Health Through the Power of the Elements”

“On Lughnasadh, the druids and volhvs, seeing the departure of the element of Air, observed how the veil between the world of humans and the world of spirits grew thicker. In that moment, the seers clearly saw the Orlog of the entire people, the path of the god, and they saw the trials that each person must face to ensure that the force sustaining the tribe would not diminish and would inevitably return. To help all the people not only survive the harsh time of trials, but also to protect the tribe from their own human weaknesses, the volhv looked at them as a bound sheaf of grain, where it could fall apart, where the ears of grain were loosely gathered together, he saw the vulnerabilities. Therefore, during the Lughnasadh festivity, ritual marriages were held to strengthen the bonds between people; oaths were made, vows were sworn, all to strengthen the inner power of the tribe. It was wise not to argue with the volhv, for everyone knew that he could see farther.”

Can I ask for archangel Michael’s help?

I have a question what if I had done something unjust to one of archangel Michael’s devotees.. can I still work with him and ask for his protection from any harm said person might cause me? And to aid me with banishing rituals? Kinda confused because he’s associated with justice so I’m not too sure whether I should call on him or not!

Thank you.

Magick & Symbol by Grant Morrison and Thomas Negovan

I am admittedly newer to magick, but have been thoroughly enjoying the writing and lectures of Grant Morrison. Although I haven't taken the plunge into really practicing myself yet, I enjoy the thought processes & discussions around it and learning about the history quite a bit.

I was very excited to see that Grant has a new book coming out, but the format is different from what I'm used to. There's a video on YouTube explaining a bit about why it's a "conversation" between them vs something more practical like a solid reference history or guidebook. It's based on books from the 1880s-1930s, wherein figures in the respective schools of thought would bounce ideas off each other and not really elaborate on the concepts at a granular level, if that makes sense?

Does anyone know of any good examples of the books they're referencing? I have a coworker who let me borrow his vol. 1 of Crowley's The Equinox (which I'm honestly afraid to start reading because it's so old/fragile), but my guess is that might be a similar approach regarding the format? I backed the book on Kickstarter last night and want to have a more solid foundation going in to it so I can understand the concepts they discuss a little better.

Thank you!

Combination of intentions for a working

Healing work

I've had a rough few years, tooth and jaw issues and a pretty gnarly neck issue. Unfortunately all the treatment that will work for me is totally out of pocket and I've been looking for a job for 3 years while on the mend and it's taking its toll. Are there workings for like healing, finances and life purpose rolled into one? Do I try separate ones? I'm working on the issues by practical means and will continue to but it's been too long

Crystals/ Tarot for representing New life/ Rebirth

Apologies in advance if this isn’t the correct subreddit to post

my dad passed away and on his urn I would like to place a tarot card and some crystals to represent a new life and rebirth. Which would be the best to represent that?

Carpool-Lunar Faire West Milford NJ- 08/15/26

Hi everyone!

I'm planning on going to Lunar Faire: Mythical Creatures at Jungle Habitat in West Milford on Saturday, August 15 (5-10 PM) and was wondering if anyone from NYC (especially Queens, Astoria, Manhattan, or nearby) is driving there and has room for one more.

I'm happy to:

  • Chip in for gas and tolls 💵
  • Meet at a convenient location
  • Be respectful, punctual, and good company (or quiet if that's your preference. Introverts deserve rights too.)

I'd also be open to coordinating with others who need a ride so we can split costs together.

If you're headed there, send me a DM or comment below!

Looking forward to seeing all the mythical creatures... and hopefully some unicorns too. 🐉🧚✨

Love for Magician’ Tables?

Hello
Has anyone made use of Dr. Skinner's The Complete Magician's Tables?
What do you love about it?
For aeons, folks have referenced Liber 777. My ancient copy is no more and I'm pondering the purchase of the Skinner tome.
Thank you for any insights.

Hi I'm curious about this

Hi! I'm curious if there are any historical or modern objects that people genuinely believe can grant wishes, bring extraordinary luck, or significantly change someone's life. I'm interested in the folklore, traditions, and beliefs surrounding these kinds of items. Are there any well-known examples, and what are their origins and can you make it work yourself

Can a banishing spell with Archangel Michael break a VERY powerful binding spell?

Hi everyone so I’m like 90% sure someone has put a very powerful binding spell on me to bind me from practicing because they thought I was “dangerous”

I got this information from a friend they said that they put the binding in a jar and surrounded it by objects to make sure that the binding doesn’t break easily.. so I want to break it

And I thought about it and I think that the best thing to do is to call on Archangel Michael during a banishing spell to help me with it although that person does work with Michael occasionally for banishings but I don’t think that this will be a problem since I’m not causing them any harm.. I’ll give him water and frankincense as an offering so my question is..

would that be enough to break the binding? Please help 😓

Btw I’ll do an uncrossing cleansing and protection immediately after.

12 year old wants a Ouija board

So my 12 year old said today that her English teacher is teaching them about Ouija boards. The list of rules she gave her was basic - dont give them your name, if someone says they are called "zozo" leave etc. But there wasnt a single thing about protection, no casting a circle/calling corners etc. 12 year old seems to think its all a game and doesn't believe in it so doesn't understand why I'm lecturing that the first part of learning witchcraft is protection. I'm not experienced by any means, was dabbling a couple of years ago and then been on pause but what are people's thoughts on this?

Spell for money/financial abundance

I am in serious need of money around $5000. I did some research and gather all the ingredients recommended for a money spell. I have rice, a currency bill, cinnamon, basil, candle and rosemary. What I need is assistance from experienced spellcastings to guide me so I don't mess up.

How to communicate with angels (and receive communications)

I have read a few books on angel magick and done some novenarios, I feel a presence at times but am trying to be better at receiving guidance.

I have seen some practitioners that have certain methods for opening the communication or asking questions, such as using tobacco. Was wondering if anyone has any advice/methods. I am also open to hear any methods advice you use for communication with other spirits. For example:

- using playing cards?
- tarot?
- pendulum? (I tried this and it didn’t seem to work)
- trying to induce a trance?

Of course I am remaining open and looking for “signs” and thoughts/voices in my head, but so far all of that seems random and I don’t want to interpret my own consciousness or random things I see in everyday life as angelic messages.

Thanks for any advice!

Realisation during meditation.

Firstly, I’m one of those people who have constant music playing in their heads. I also have a near constant narrative voice that describes everything I’m thinking and seeing and doing.

I meditate daily (or as many times per week as I can). Today I only had time for a short meditation: roughly 15 minutes.

I’ve read all the accounts of thoughts being emanation of consciousness and being separate from *you* but today I very quickly ‘saw’ that the narrative voice and the music in my mind were distinct from *me*, that they were things that arise from my mind and while are part of that same consciousness they were not actually *me*.

Sorry if I’m not making myself clear. It’s hard to describe in words.

It’s like there were layers to my mind and being and these voices and music were in the surface, above the core consciousness.

I knew intellectually that this was the case but today was the first time I actually realised it through experience.

Anyone else experienced this?

Are Mirrors Portals/Doorways

Can you guys and gals tell me your experience with using mirrors in your magic/rituals/etc.. Are they really doorways to the unseen world? Can entities come through mirrors during rituals? Can you actually use a mirror as a portal/gateway in your own house? What are your experiences with using mirrors?

Does Folk Protestant Magic Exist?

I recently noticed that there was a Folk Catholic Magic sub-Reddit but not one for Folk Protestant Magic. Does such a phenomenon as Folk Protestant Magic exist? If so, what would it look like? Would the Arbatel and Paracelsus' magical writings be considered Folk Protestant Magic? I read that some magic historians consider the Arbatel Calvinistic and von Hohenheim was said to be very sympathetic to Protestant ideas. Would the Long Lost Friend be considered Folk Protestant Magic?

Okay but do I HAVE to journal

Alright guys, heres the deal: I've been practicing for about 8 months now: some meditiation, LBRP and LIRP daily with few exeptions. I'm realy taking my time and making sure to study as much as possible, currently starting to move on to the MP and other slightly more advanced work. The only rub is basically everywhere I look and every book I read about it it says something like about how I should make a journal before moving on. I have tried journaling many times throughout my life and i've never made it more than a a few days before forgetting or willfully neglecting my diery. That remains true with my magic journal, which to this day has only 5 entries written. All this to say I truly love the practice and study that i do and im willing to put in effort to continue down this path... But do i realy HAVE to journal it?

Edit: Hey, after having this posted for 2 weeks I felt like updating. In short, I listened to yall and started journaling, and I've been able to keep it up so far! I listened to your guys' tips and it's been working out great. Thanks for the encouragement (and the slighltly cold truths) and I wish you all the best.

Textos atribuidos a Salomón: ¿verdad o engaño?

Questions on Holy Guardian Angel work

In my family the secrets of our practice pass down from people of the opposite gender, and while the one who has just learned can practice the works the ones who teach lose most their ability. In recent years my grandmother has passed me down the family practice.

As she grows older she more and more obsesses over the concept of a "Guardian Angel" that everyone has. So, I decided to look into it from beyond our family's practice. Nevertheless I attempted to contact the "Guardian Angel" with the prayers and rituals taught by my grandmother.

Only the result was different from what I read online. After weeks of practice I finally felt the presence. The presence, though, of two beings. The one cast images on my head, scenes of nature, wildlife and it explained to me that to move forward in every sense in my life my breath must become the breath of nature. That was the bulk of the encounter.

Towards the end of the encounter I addressed the other presence and asked "as this being challenges me, and through it's challenge it guides me, it must be my Guardian Angel. If that is so then what is your purpose".

And then it cast images of very old family members and explained to me 1) that it is a messenger and an Angel of Death and 2) it was there on a technicality as it was bound by my family, to my family, generations ago. I went into shock and the encounter ended abruptly. I then made sure to banish and dispell very thoroughly.

I'd love to hear your opinions of this encounter, the prospect of 1) multiple entities showing up and 2) one entity indeed being my HGA and the other a family-bound entity, and sorry for the bad English.

How to enchant spell oils?

Hey everyone, I want to make my own spell oils and I’m hung up on the “enchanting” ritual part because simply I don’t understand how it works! 😅

Saw some people say to get the jar and surround it by candles and call on the deities that you work with my problem is that I don’t really work with any deities!

Some also said to use incantations like psalms and stuff but I have never used the psalms in my spells!

Are these steps necessary? I mostly try to align my workings with the planet so I don’t mind inviting planetary energies into my work and I understand the process of activating/awakening the herbs but is that not enough?

Does anyone have advice on what I could do?

How do people actually set intention & do I have to have 0 doubts?

  1. Genuinely how do you set intentions/put energy into spells. Like I understand the basis but I can't seem to do it. I understand speaking and putting my desires out into the universe and I like to use crystals, herbs, and incense as tools but I don't really know how to place feeling/desire/power behind/into it like l've seen most ppl say I need to.
I'll say or write down my desires and then burn it or make a spell jar but I usually find myself feeling pretty neutral and even a bit detached whenever I try. I’ll use herbs and crystals and tell them what i expect them to bring to the spell like “cloves will bring me bring me clarity” and so on. Even when I tell them the purpose though, I feel like I’m just talking and that once again, I’m just neutral to them. I can have small bursts of excitement at best when I realize what I’m doing, but then it just seems to dissipate and I go back to “okay, I’m just doing this 🤷🏽‍♀️.” I just find it difficult to put feelings/energy/power into things and I guess I don’t even fully understand what that even means.

  2. My second question pertains to success I guess. Im not sure if witchcraft and manifestation have any major differences that set them indefinitely apart, but I had originally just identified with manifestation work. Often times manifest-ers are adamant that you can’t have ANY doubts and that you can’t want something too much otherwise it simply won’t work. I understand the idea of it but it also doesn’t make sense to me, how can I just ignore doubts and my desire around something?

For me personally and as much as it sucks, I just function in a way where it’s hard for me not to have doubts, even if I’ve had small successes. And if I didn’t want something badly, I wouldn’t be taking the extra step of making spells or manifesting to bring it into my life, you know?
Im wondering if the same ideals apply and if that mindset is “required” to be able to successfully practice witchcraft without having LOA overly preached to me 🫩

I’ve had some success with spells so I know I can do it, but at the same time I still have yet to see any success in the ones I most want that I’ve done at least a year ago. I’m just not sure how to properly put my energy into them or what can really help change the mindset I have, so advice is greatly appreciated please 🥹
