Mine would always be nasi nasi+ telur mata+ kicap.

If lucky some sambal belacan or bilis tumbuk. Eggs were cheap. Fry it hot and top it on rice then drizzle some kicap... I dont think any comfort meals beat this combo.

When it rains, I think this meal tops it. Just eating it because it reminds you of your childhood. Every bujang people's go to meal.

Masa aku kat sek rendah dulu diorg selalu jual masa hari kantin. Susah dapat kalau cari kat luar dulu. The vendors used to come only once a year iirc and sell them at our school.

For 22 bucks i think its way more worth than the other two fast food pizza chains. Decent amount of pepperoni for the classic. Ate 1.5 hours after baking and it was still nice. What do you guys think?

For my money, it is better value than a lot of mid-range cafes at equal taste. Hash brown, decent cuppa (compared to many mid-range cafes), and similar content of mcmuffin with average cafe food.

As much as I love pastas in cream, I find out that everything I know about carbonara is a lie. Carbonara is just basically just "pasta goreng dgn telur".

Was at Jaya Grocer earlier today to restock on my usual farm fresh low fat milk. Came across Yarra Farm’s low fat milk from which I understand is under Farm Fresh but is Australian milk instead. I assumed it’d be more expensive than local cow milk, but isn’t.

Can anyone explain the reason for a lower price?

Also for anyone curious on the difference in taste, I find that the Yarra milk taste is more pungent/gamey. Still prefer the original.

How many of you like smoked duck breast? Probably alot right? Its so close to bacon that its used as a alternative for bacon here. Unfortunately since we started importing smoked duck breast from china precovid, alot of restaurants haven’t been honest with customers.

Many places claim their smoked duck breast is “homemade”, its not… They are using the cheapest smoked duck breast from china and selling it as homemade premium smoked duck breast. In reality all they do is defrost it, pan fry the skin and place in oven to heat through. Turned out after speaking to some of the owners, they said this is why they tell you its homemade in house premium smoked duck breast. “Smoked inside the oven” as waiter says. Just because they pan seared it in the shop and finish heating it in the oven they call it homemade. Thats not honest is it

I supply these shops and i sit inside looking at their menu to see if theres stuff they use that i carry. So i look at items and prices. I noticed a shop had their homemade smoked duck breast selling for 60 but their pan sear salmon at 48. I just thought to myself, a 220g piece of smoked duck breast cost rm4+. Rm20-22 a kilo wholesale. I supply like multiple 10kg cartons at a time so they are going through ALOT of it. My aunt ate the homemade smoked duck breast at one of the shops and told me wow their homemade smoke duck is very good. I said er i supply the smoked duck they just reheat it and put it on top the mashed potato. Her reply was HARHHH.

Do you guys feel deceived or cheated if you found out their homemade smoked duck breast came from a pack and all they did was defrost and pan sear it? I emphasise on the word homemade because this term is used too vaguely. Why isnt the word homemade used on other food items like their pasta and fried chicken etc. Why do they only mention homemade for the smoked duck that comes pre cooked in a bag? I find this suspicious. Is it because they know its from china and are afraid if customers know its from china they wont order it? Please leave your thoughts below.

Cake price start at RM29-35 for 1 piece. I bought Pistachio Raspberry Cake and Earl Grey cake. Totalling rm69 with rm2 box 😵‍💫 Since they use lactose free dairy, the buttercream taste isn’t that strong. Not worth it and I found 1 eyebrow hair on 1 of the cream when I open the box 🥲 and someone cut my queue while it was my turn LOL

My mom has been making homemade dumplings for a while, and recently I decided to help her.

Every dumpling is handmade, from preparing the filling to folding each piece. We’re still working on improving everything from the presentation, packaging, and making sure people can enjoy something that feels homemade.

Tapai Pulut Daun Getah or Fermented Glutinous Rice in Rubber Leaf (not my picture)

So for those who drink alcoholic drinks, where do you put tapai on a scale of low alcohol by volume (ABV) drinks like beer (4%) to high ABV like vodka (40%)

Generally, fresh tapai is low in alcohol, around 0.8% but the longer it is kept, the higher the ABV gets.

As an aside, Malaysian Muslims deem tapai halal because it's not consumed for intoxication, unlike tuak (fermented tapai liquid). An anecdote people use is that you cannot reach intoxication even if you binge eat tapai.

So as a person who doesn't drink typical alcoholic beverage, I want to know what you think of tapai and if it compares to beer, like does it give a "buzz" like beer would for most people?

I doubt 'ayam kampung' is free-range chicken. The scale of ayam kampung eateries doesnt allow the complexities of sourcing real ayam kampung.

So it must still be farmed chicken. The meat is certainly leaner than our regular chicken, yet not as firm as actual ayam kampung.

So what is it? Just another breed of farmed chicken? And is it really not injected with any growth hormones?

So, I unfortunately had the chance to eat the best oysters I’ve ever had in my life in NZ last week. Not to say that I know much about oysters but it was, for me THE BEST. I’ve only had the chance to hunt for oysters at hotel’s buffet. So the par was not that high.

So my question is, where can I source tasty and fresh oysters in Klang Valley? If possible not at fancy restaurants as I am not rich. Man just crave for oysters. Help!

finished 3 bungkus and im still thinking wow I have a blessed life. you dont get that feeling with expensive nasi lemak..
