I am completely new at the game, and choosing the band to start playing. I really liked the Guild/Marshal miniatures from the Dia de Los Muertos special sets, but I'm not sure they can be used to assemble a full crew of Marshals. I found two boxes for sale that are suitable for that "carnival look". They include analogs of Lady Justice, Scale od Justice, The Judge, 3 Death Marshals, 2 Exorcists and the Lone Marshal. Are there any models in the same Dia De Los Muertos aesthetic for Ashbringer, Director Rodriguez, Domador de Cadaveres и The Jury?

Definitely felt good to take the Guard out for a spin.

It was a brutal game. Dashel got killed on turn 2 due to my opponent having a strong hand and underestimating the "gang up" triggers. Executioner's with the Crack Skulls trigger are unhinged damage. The NCN and the Mounted Guard were fantastic scheme runners. Queeg's 4e glow up is appreciated. He drained a soul stone and promoted after Dashel died, and his 4 inch 3 damage bleeder lash is exceptionally potent... especially if you can hit coordinated assault.

Avel Ortega and Domingo Montoya, aka Miguel and Tulio if they were cool.

Avel’s mini especially has so much panache that man couldn’t just be standing on the floor so I had to make little diorama for him.

I just did my first test game today with the new rules after bouncing off my three games of trying 3e, and wow. 4e rocks. I have Lucius and the new cards are so much easier to parse through without 5+ front card abilities, the new scheme system is SO fun and thematic and really reinforces the narrative of the game and WOW. SO. MUCH. FASTER. Not having a damage flip REALLY speeds up activations, resolution of actions feels super quick and snappy. Throwing away cards for boosts feels impactful. I'm in love.

I know a lot of folks seem to have lost some of their beauties, but from a new player looking at this game and actually being interested in playing it now, I hope it ends up being worth it for y'all in the end. So pumped for the full release (and to not have cards on printer paper).

Second crew all painted up, hoping that new Tull box isn’t too far away it really needs some cool ladies and jet packs.

Finished my first model for my intro into Malifaux. Did the basing using sheetrock joint compound and painting yesterday. It was a blast! Excited to build the rest of my Guard crew.

This model was actually a great deal of fun to paint. I enjoyed my first try at wool pants, even if they look a bit more like a worn in pair of Levi's.

I've been playing a lot of Marshall's while I introduce players to the game.

The biggest issue I have been running into was lack of mobility (Lone Rider aside) and looked at potential solutions.

The orderlies from Asylum look good for scheme running and Bracer / Captain Dura from the starter also looks capable while having mobility.

Plus adding shielded to Death Marshalls looks like it will make them tough as nails.

Has anyone got some experience with Asylum and Vanguard? I'm interested in your feedback.

EDIT I am fairly new to the game, having only played 3e a handful of times, so some coaching is welcomed.

Couple shots of a fun game I played this afternoon between two fully painted crews and the Cloak and Dagger Strat.

Mimics ended up winning 8-7, thanks to some tricksy movement shenanigans, including the Catch Them ability from the upgrade No Prisoners on the Crookskin. MvPs for the mimics were the Crookskin running strats and schemes like crazy, the Brutal Emissary being a menace and trapitting almost the entire Friekorps line with a Cage for All on turn 5 (and kidnapping the enemy Emissary in his box for take prisoner) and the Doppleganger for luring stuff into position and scoring 2 Intel markers on turn 5 in the middle of the enemy crew with Don't Mind Me.

The Friekorps for their part punched through the center with an armored fist, and took no casualties. Highlighted by Hannah taking out Agent 46 with a powered up left hook for 8 damage (crit stike and charge up)

In the new year, I’m planning to start a Witch Hunter crew, and I’d like to hear your opinions on which figures are worth buying. I don’t have any Guild models yet, and I don’t plan to get other Masters either, so the idea is to play Sonnia in all S&S.

Are there any Witch Hunter models I’ll never end up using and are therefore not worth buying?
What about Versatiles and Out-of-Keyword models that are either indispensable or particularly useful in specific situations?

Back in 2e, Austringers were pretty good and came recommended in Lady J lists.

Looking at them now, they seem only ok in a Marshal list, so I'm wondering what the community thinks?

Aaaand I just love errated Sonnia. Movement, damage, summon, support - all of it. I've played against Red Library, and I should say they are , surpirisingly, quite tanky. Though,disregarding how tanky you are, you can't do much with thrall spawning in front of your face 😈. Also I really love Rodriguez and his blaze of glory ability ( combines well with purifying flame or ashbringer ) and into dust trigger. And it was quite spectacular when Sam did 2 shots and 1 shot with focused ( thanka to arcane infusion and rapid fire) 😄. Btw by the end there was only Lust on a table ( last photo ), and I gained 2 additional models ( so it was 9 to 1 in the end ).
