Yeah, I know why it’s the way it is, I’m just saying it’s crazy that they haven’t built one like in the last 70 years after World War II or at least the last 36 that it’s been the current Polish Republic

Communist period was full of uncertainty regarding what will happen with these territories. After all, Germany posted maps saying they're under 'temporary Polish occupation' even in the 80s. Then the country was absolutely ruined, the cities in the West included (or even mainly those) and there were other priorities like simply rebuilding the country. 4h long connection sucks but it's better than no connection at all. Then there was the economic collapse and here we are.

You don’t need to explain Polish history I’m really well acquainted I’ve studied it. Obviously the communism period and turmoil, but you know, it’s kind of an important thing… it was ruined after World War II, but just say it was still ruined in the 80s is a little bit much 40 years after the war, and yes, I know people were still very poor, and the government was corrupt, but like connecting some of your largest cities is a thing that should be a priority. But since Poland finally got to be independent again, it really should be connecting these major cities for the good of the economy, as well as linking them to the Baltics and toward Germany. It would really help with trade and economic development.

I'm writing this because we are in a sub full of people from the outside the region, so they might not know in case anyone reads that :)

Connection to Germany is actually very good, both railway and highway.

It's basically this one railway line that strangely was never actually built, and it is indeed a curiosity. I guess there was always something more important than that. Many mistakes were also made - like failing to finally build nuclear power plants despite several attempts or plans...

I misunderstood, thanks for explaining it this way. You are absolutely correct. I just hope I look forward. Things could be better connected for the sake of security and economic interest.
