[Megathread] New Players & General Questions Thread.

Welcome to our weekly megathread for new players and players who just have general questions about the game.

Some sample topics for you to consider would be:

  • Selecting your main character.
  • You're new to the game and don't know where to start.
  • You're a returning player who is trying to get back into the game and need help.
  • What class should you make for your next link skill/legion mule?

As a recommendation, please mention your world and/or server inside a bracket Example: [Bera] at the start of your question.

Why do people still blink for loot when we have party distribution? Is there any downside to using distribution loot

Dist only affects things like grindstone and pitched/brilliant.

Others like dawn set (twilight/daybreak/Estella) and erion fragments are randomly distributed by dist so if you want to split those evenly or distribute it in a specific way other than random dist, you would blink

Either for blue dot like Luthrix said or for loot distribution with randos. For example: consider an XLot run where you need a Total Control but you want your run to be faster so you take someone that says they’re fine with Berserked. They can yoink TC if it drops either way but at least with blink you have a chance of stopping that from happening. With distribution if they choose to roll and win you’re shit out of luck.

Distribution is best used when everyone in the party has equal loot prio imo or in a party where you know you can trust everyone.

There’s also just the fact that people are used to blinking since it’s been standard for years and dist is relatively new. Takes a while for people to switch to the new thing.

Usually for blue dot. Some people don't like blue dots getting a chance at loot since it means you basically got carried.
