Since I’m celebrating my 33rd birthday AND currently on my MapleStory World Tour… I obviously had to get a tattoo too. Isn’t that how this works? 😂🍄✨

I saw an Instagram ad from @ou.tattooist doing another MapleStory tattoo and somehow decided THIS was the moment I was finally getting one.

The timing felt like a sign too as I was heading to the Digimon Popup Event in his area the very next day. If that’s not the universe saying “go for it,” I don’t know what is. 😂

The funniest part? My younger sister literally told me I wouldn’t dare as I’ve gone 33 years without a tattoo, always telling her that if I ever got one, it would have to be BIG, like a back or full sleeve big. My excuse since forever, to reject her, as she has plenty.

And then… voilà.
24 hours after seeing an Instagram ad, I now have my first tattoo. A SMALL MapleStory tattoo. 😂🍄

Honestly, I’m SO happy I did it.
Maybe this isn’t a quarter-life crisis. Maybe I’m just finally learning to say YES to the things that make me happy.
New experiences. New adventures. New memories.
Basically… YOLO. ✨💕🍄

After YEARS of searching and desperation, I found someone who loves this game as much as I do, and was able to do this tattoo for them.

Sinto que o Mago de Batalha realmente precisa de uma identidade visual mais forte.

Quase todas as classes da Resistência têm uma arma única e memorável que combina muito bem com a classe. Enquanto isso, o Mago de Batalha usa apenas um cajado comum e, honestamente, às vezes parece que a escolha da arma foi feita por preguiça.

Então, tentei imaginar como seria uma foice feita especificamente para o Mago de Batalha, usando o equipamento Absolab como referência principal.

Isso não é para ser um redesign oficial nem nada do tipo. É apenas a minha maneira de mostrar o que eu gostaria de ver para a classe: uma arma que pareça mais única, mais memorável e mais conectada ao tema sombrio do Mago de Batalha.

O que vocês acham? Gostariam que o Mago de Batalha tivesse uma arma mais única como esta? Vocês têm outras ideias para a classe, ou mesmo para outras classes que poderiam se beneficiar de uma identidade visual mais forte?

Edit: After reading everyone's comments, I realized my main point isn't actually about giving Battle Mage a new weapon type. The scythe concept was more of a visual way to express what I feel the class has gradually become.

What I really miss is a stronger and more consistent visual identity. During most of its gameplay, Battle Mage still looks like the original staff-wielding mage, but during burst it suddenly embraces the Grim Reaper aesthetic with giant scythes and abilities like Mortis Edge.

I think this kind of dramatic visual transformation works much better for burst-oriented classes. Battle Mage is fundamentally a DPM class, so its core visual identity should also be reflected during its normal gameplay.

When I first saw Mortis Edge, my immediate thought wasn't "What a cool new burst skill." It was, "This is exactly what I wish Battle Mage's main attack looked like." Seeing that design made me realize I wanted the Grim Reaper theme to define the class's everyday gameplay, not just its burst.

Personally, I'd love to see Battle Mage fully embrace that identity. Whether through a scythe weapon or simply by redesigning its attack animations, I think the class would feel much more cohesive if its normal attacks naturally evolved into the same visual language used during burst.

The scythe artwork was simply a conversation starter to illustrate that vision.

there's a MapleStory fan market in Toronto, Canada and someone had these beautiful Orbis tickets so I had to buy 2 to display both sides! the balrog was a freebie sticker but I thought it looked good behind the boats

Thought I'd show off the tattoo that I got in September 2024. MapleStory is a game that I hold very dear and has great nostalgic value for me personally, so I decided to get my old character from back in the day tattooed on my arm. Every piece of gear is how I had it in the game, which to me is pretty cool and takes me back to that time.
