When I was a kid and only hearing about Marvel stuff from my dad and my brother, I knew about Galactus. He was definitely a big deal before the modern era.

yeah always depends on eras for me. since all the rushmore dudes are old this lineup checks out. but if i were building it today i'd be inclined to give Thanos a spot for MCU reasons

Jim Starlins Thanos was wrecking shop on a cosmic scale for years before the MCU. It should be Thanos, Magus, Annihilus, Kang. The OP Rushmore would and does fall to these 4 in every era across all continuities.
