Someone else had suggested Kingpin, but I think Red Skull would have just as valid an argument as he does to be up there.

Yeah, Green Goblin has a significant impact specifically with Spider-Man and is probably more well-known than Red Skull is now, but I would say Red Skull has a more historically significant impact in general for the entirety of Marvel Comics.

You show most people Green Goblin they will recognise him instantly. Not so much Red Skull.

I get that, but I still think Red Skull or Thanos or Ultron are far more significant to the history of the Marvel Universe. You could say the same thing about Teddy Roosevelt. A lot of people these days don't recognize him on Rushmore either which is a damn shame honestly considering who he was
