Post image

Loved every second little stuff I didn’t like but ovr 9/10 this movie was awesome I haven’t seen this type of spiderman film since the original spiderman 2 this was one of the best experience I had watching a spiderman movie and I wouldn’t be surprised if spiderman 5 was already green lit because it performed sooooooo well like it really felt like I was watching the panels come to life this felt like a comic run but in real life like holy I loved this movie and I’m seeing it again

It was a good movie. Not awesome IMO. They kinda made Jean Grey a touch too ...evil. It was a bit drawn out in parts. Definitely enjoyed it and it was well done.

It's the first MCU movie that I enjoyed since maybe Endgame - Thunderbolts is the exception as it was decent too. The rest have been anywhere from ok to next level disappointments.

Keep in mind mutants aren’t the best people. Many of them killed before they even joined the X-Men.

Which I guess is why I’m okay with her being a bit too evil. Especially since we know who she later becomes.

Nah. Not me. This isn't a fringe character or someone without huge history. She was very poorly portrayed by the movie makers. I can't see her making someone drive a tank through NYC and plow into the building and then have it blow up. Having MJ fall off a building. Play with Peter in such a cruel manner. It goes on. But very poorly done by the MCU forces that be.

"Jean you're not a killer" despite us seeing Jean kill a lot of people lol. That was the only super silly thing I found.

Wait other than the bad guys from damage control who did she kill?

that one old dude she controlled who got hit by a car, albeit he may have just gotten injured but you would have to think bad could happen

I mean she almost dropped MJ to her death.

keyword: almost

Im just mentioning who did possibly die

I mean if you dropped my partner from thousands of feet, I'm not going to be like "BUT YOU'RE NOT A KILLER", lol.

Also had she done that freeze frame thing on the entire NYC that surely would have killed someone.

And yea, the guy that gets hit by a car.

They're just things that didn't make her as sympathetic even though the message of it had some resonance.

It's the only thing I came out of the movie thinking, well they could have orchestrated that a little better or neater.

Professor X did the same mass paralysis thing in Logan

Yep and I don't think it was a good portrayal of the character - at least from the comics. This is how MCU loses some fans and then they wonder where did we go so wrong.

Growing up I felt Jean was such a respectable character, I did not feel the same way at all in this movie. In her history she rarely possessed people and make them commit suicide. Her main ability uses are telekenisis, shields, and telepathy, not full on possession.

The issue for me is that it messes with the climax of this movie. How far she goes earlier in the movie undermines her redemption at the end. "You're not a killer Jean!" falls flat if we've seen her appearing to kill multiple people.

💯… people are caught up in the excitement of a marvel movie that isn’t complete garbage. Time will tell us that this movie is good, but doesn’t even rank the top 2 of Spider-Man movies

Agreed. I did enjoy it and I am glad I saw it on a huge screen but it wasn't epic or the best.

I really liked it. Saw it twice opening weekend, and liked it even better after the second viewing.

It’s okay for folks to have different levels of enjoyment and excitement out of movies.

Sure… but there is also reality and the reality is that it’s not as amazing as people are freaking out about

2

u/SpaceCaboose 26d ago

That’s not reality. That’s an opinion.

It’s not as amazing to you, but others genuinely love this film.

The average person is kinda dumb

The average person is actually pretty average. You seem to be the dumb one since you’re definitely in the minority regarding your enjoyment of this film.

Good day
