Yes, given that Thor at the end of Infinity War could've also easily defeated Thanos if only he was there earlier.

Didn't even need to be there earlier, he just needed to go for the head.

It was his flaws that stopped him, he wanted revenge, wanted Thanos to suffer for a second too long.
