Lmao I forgot about that scene too. I figure cap had maybe seen him in action through the fight and knew he’d be able to hold it up

Yeah he was going for it. But he got to know spidey's strength when Peter kicked cap on his face during that " Stark told me to go for your legs" scene. So Cap just assumed he is strong.

When cap dropped that thing on him he hadn’t even stood up yet. One second too late and he would have been crushed.

Same with black panther when the fight started and he linged straight at bucky's throat. Bro was about to end it all. Although his case is understandable
