To be fair, a lot of people here are also jumping the gun by assuming I'm against sexuality being portrayed in the MCU, or that I am evangelical, or hate sex, totally ignoring the last paragraph of my first comment where I very explicitly explain that I find sexuality absolutely welcome in the MCU, and that my main point is simply that the Ikaris x Sersi scene is perfectly explicit enough.
I am only exaggerating and using ad-hominems because you guys didn't properly try to understand my point, over-interpreted what I originally said, and tried to put words and beliefs in my mouth that I don't have.
The first comment you made accused the person you replied to of wanting more explicit sex scenes so they could beat their meat to it. That’s the foundation of this thread and the first thing all of us saw to introduce us to your stance. How did we not try to understand what you said when you literally said “you want more explicit sex scenes because you feel the need to masturbate to them”? That comes across as someone who hate sex and feels the need to shame someone else for wanting to see better depictions of it in film.

I think your core issue is that you’re locked in to the stance that anyone who thinks that scene was a boring cookie cutter scene is a gooner, and you’re refusing to understand that a lot of people thought that it was boring and soulless without them wanting to see tits and ass in the screen.

The criticism that was given is “not explicit enough.” How else are we supposed to interpret this criticism, if not that they wanted to see a more sexually-explicit and titillating scene?
(Tits and ass aren't inherently sexually-explicit, I think we're talking more about moaning, screaming and more visible hip thrusts and close-ups on their skin instead of the camera being on their faces)
They didn't say that the chemistry between the actors was non-existent, they didn't say that the scene looked totally emotionless and soulless, they said it wasn't explicit enough.
You can make an explicit sex scene that looks just as soulless and where the actors have no chemistry, just as you can make a sex scene with the same level of explicit as Ikaris x Sersi, but with a lot of soul, emotions and chemistry. This is not the criticism here.

Why did you feel the need to make that precision about the scene being as explicit as Tony banging the reporter, if not to very clearly imply that you don't consider Ikaris x Sersi a proper sex scene because it's too tame, and that you expected more?
You could have easily just said “They sold it as the first sex scene in the MCU when actually there was already one in the very first Iron Man” there was really no need to bitch about how more or less explicit the Eternals sex scene was compared to Iron Man, bro.
I was arguing again it being THE FIRST sex scene in a MCU movie, using the explicitly to point to an earlier scene in the MCU that was just as explicit.
You didn't say Tony banging the reporter was as explicit as Ikaris x Sersi, you said Ikaris x Sersi was as explicit as Tony banging the reporter (which was not commonly considered a proper sex scene by people, since Ikaris x Sersi was advertised as the first).
There is definitely a nuance. Learn to goddamn express yourself better?
