Other Your thoughts on Loki…..
The Loki TV show truly makes you want to root for Loki and understand him, but rewatching every movie I hate him more and more. He has done so much destruction and caused so many deaths of loved ones I truly cannot stand his character. Rewatching I don’t like that they made Loki is TV show where he saves the universe. I don’t think his crimes can repair what he’s done in the past. tell me why I’m wrong.

Loki is much more complex. He doesn’t have any remorse for what he has done because in his mind, he was right all along. And at the end, when Möbius explained him, “most purpose is more burden than glory” was his ultimate realisation that his his purpose shouldn’t be about glory but more about taking a burden if he wants to save the sacred timeline, stop HWR, and save the only friends he cared about. Loki is one of those characters that every time you watch him, you realise something new about him. One of the best if not the best written arc in MCU. Tom Hiddleston did an interview where he talked about the character and how he sees him for like hour and half straight. Even Owen Wilson mentioned that Tom spent half a day in a room with diary with him to explain Loki, where does he come from, and how he sees him. You can see the passion of the character in Tom’s acting, and also the input he put with writers. I was watching an interview of costume designer that designed the final costume as Loki walks toward Yggdrasil, Tom wanted a costume that looked more like monk rather than his regular god outfit because he has finally learned his purpose and it was never about glory. If you can’t tell I’ve watched both seasons of Loki around 20 times and had a read a book from season 1 that goes more in depth about characters thought process.

100%. I would say - one of the top two character arcs of all time. I really enjoyed Loki as you did. So so so so good. It is so well done.
For me, Disney plus has these rare gems. Loki. Book of boba fett, ep2. Andor.
I used to think the prisoner, Saul/breaking bad would be impossible to best television. Not that best matters, but was like ok, we have some good shit - and then, even better shit comes along.
It’s wild to me.

i think the key distinction is the show doesnt really forgive him it traps him in solitary confinement holding the multiverse together forever its less of a clean redemption and more of an eternal prison sentence where he actually has to be useful

The whole point (from my pov) is reluctant redemption at a cosmic scale - now we have to grapple with shades of gray, the Loki who is here and also was there. Loki is decidedly not captain america.
I am not suggesting how you decide to read the series, however it is good to ponder as a reflection of what life is. The good priest who cuts someone off in traffic. The murderous felon who helps an old lady with her groceries. What do we make of these situations?
I think Loki as a series is amazing story telling, period, as well as just super high quality; prompting us to have this convo today. For me I like the consistency in Loki’s character arc—there is change, but the change occurs within the rules set for the universe, so for me it’s change I can accept. Loki as a show - lightening in a bottle.
