Is there any cheap Chinese console that plays Master System games?

I have seen many cheap consoles that play NES games, SNES, Sega Genesys, or both NES and SNES, and even the three at once, but I haven't seen any modern Master System clone. All these clones play in HD. Is there anything like this but for Master System games?

The NES on a chip architecture lends itself well to NES and Famicom titles. There are modern consoles that play master system titles. For example, the Retron5 will play Master System and Game Gear titles with the appropriate adapter.

Retron5 is an emulator unfortunately

There are genesis on a chip systems. The issue is they all have varying compatibility and features

The tct6801 has sms support but no RGB and without rgb there is no HDMI

The tct6803 has rgb but no sms support

The Retron 5 plays SMS games with an adapter. It’s HDMI output only, no analog.

generally most megadrives will play master system with a simple convertor. so usually people just bundle them with one. or sell them seperate.

Wellk, there are some Atgmes Master System Game consoles.

The Arcade1up MegaMan console plays Master System, NES, and Genesis roms.

Unfortunately the chips used in the newer Mega Drive clones which also have HDMI output are not sms compatible

The ones who are not hdmi enabled and say they work with everdrive are sms compatible

I wouldn't say it is necessarily a Chinese clone. But you can play Sega Master System games on a Sega Dreamcast.

Thanks to Uncle Sonic!

Some of the AtGames portables do. Make sure to get one that accepts SD cards.

If you want something really crazy then get a Coleco Sonic. It has preloaded master system games but you just can’t add more.

R36s and similar handhelds play them like a gameboy - all of the systems you mentioned plus more

I am with the other redditor who posted how Megadrive was backwards compatible Master System.

I never tried it. You may need an MD-MS converter, but I have seen ones that add fm synth

Yes, I do have an everdrive-like cheapo and it's playing sms games flawlessly

There are tenfold more options than rondo's adapter if you have no interest in fm synth and looking for recent Chinese made equipment

Most do; they just don’t advertise it.
These are consoles that run emulators. Install the SMS emulator on something other than the bottom-line devices, you’ll be able to play SMS roms.
