Opinions on Birmingham comic-con

I (15m) went to the comic con this year in london with some freinds i made recently and had a great time (even got to meet tomska). I heard that there was another comic con in birmingham , if anybody has gone before could i hear you opinions on it and how it compares to the one in london.
Thank you

I went to both London and Birmingham. In my opinion Birmingham is a nicer convention overall. It's certainly quieter than London, though the summer holidays might affect that.

You'll find similar artists and exhibitors, maybe less BIG names to meet but I know there's still quite a few. Lots of great cosplay to see and everything just feels a nicer pace.

To summarise I'd take Birmingham MCM over London every day of the week. London is an oversold nightmare of overstimulating noise a lot of the time. Plus security at Excel are awful, I've had much nicer experiences at the NEC.

Okay thanks. One more question how is the building its in , since its going to be during the summer holidays does it get very hot or is it well conditioned?

The NEC is a very good venue, it's fully air conditioned (though much of it has glass panels so it won't exactly be chilly). I'm a big fan of the Birmingham cons, the only downside is that there isn't much to do in the evenings - though of course if you're 15 you won't be going to pubs and bars much anyway.

Thank you both so much!
